Size

Roman is a rug collection that offers both style and practicality. Featuring a variety of designs with non-distinct all-over patterns in grey, terracotta, blue, and brown tones, these rugs are versatile and blend seamlessly with a variety of decor styles.

Roman Italian Clay Orange Modern fits the brief for what we think of as a 'no-regrets' rug — practical, well-made, and quiet enough to live with for years.

How it's made

Made in Turkey. The Turkish weaving industry has refined power-loom production to a point where the result is genuinely close to the look of a traditionally woven rug. Polypropylene fibre handles wine, juice, and muddy paws with a damp cloth and a bit of patience — which is why we recommend it to most growing families. Density is what matters with a piece like this — it is what gives the rug its longevity.

Practical notes

It pairs especially well with white-washed timber and putty-painted walls. Care for this one as you would a hard floor — sweep or vacuum regularly and address spills when they happen. The fibre does the rest. Rotate the rug end-to-end every few months so foot traffic wears evenly across the surface.

On colour

The colour story matters here. Blue-toned rugs lift a room without dominating it. They pair especially well with brass, oak, and a lot of natural light. The design holds its proportions at every size we run — the medium and large sizes do not look like enlarged versions of the smaller piece. The design is balanced enough to centre a coffee table and quiet enough to let a strong artwork dominate above it.

Which size?

Have a tape measure handy before you commit — our Rug Size Guide has the layouts most of our customers end up choosing.

Worth a place in your living room if you want the kind of piece that looks better six months in.

Questions we get asked

Will it cope with kids and pets?

Yes, comfortably. Synthetic pile is stain-resistant, doesn't snag under claws, and lifts spills cleanly. It's the construction we recommend most to growing families.

How do I get rid of a stain?

Blot — never rub. Cool water and a small amount of mild detergent on a clean cloth handles most spills. Work from the outside of the stain in. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.

Can I put a rug pad underneath?

Yes, and we'd recommend it on hard floors. A pad keeps the rug from slipping, adds a little extra softness underfoot, and helps the pile wear evenly over time.

Can I return it if it isn't right?

Yes — we offer a clear returns window because we know a rug needs to be seen in the actual room. The details are on our returns page, and we'll talk you through it if anything is unclear.

Is the back of the rug latex-coated?

The backing is a standard textile finish — it sits flat on the floor and won't mark timber boards. For hard floors, we'd still recommend a rug pad to keep it from sliding.
