Sage and frost together — soft green and cool white — create a palette that feels immediately calming and considered. The Sofia Sagefrost runner brings these tones to a hallway in a thick high-low pile construction that adds genuine depth and softness to what can be one of the most underserved spaces in a home. Made in Turkey, built to last.
We don't keep every rug we get offered, and Sofia Sagefrost Hallway Runner earns its place for a particular reason.
On colour
Cream-based rugs sit comfortably in almost any palette — they brighten without bleaching the room out. Look at the surface in different light through the day and the rug picks up subtle variations the photo doesn't quite catch. From the kitchen looking through to the lounge, the rug reads as a single grounding plane rather than a competing pattern.
What's under the surface
The short version: Made in Turkey. Turkey has been the centre of rug-making for centuries, and the power-loom tradition that came out of Anatolia in the late 20th century is what makes a piece like this possible at a sensible price. There is a reason every major Australian rug retailer leans on polypropylene for family-room pieces — nothing else combines this much durability with this little fuss. Build quality holds up to close inspection — there are no shortcuts in the weave or the finish.
Sizing
For hallways and galley kitchens, the 80x300cm length we run here is the most commonly bought — our Rug Size Guide walks through how to pick the right length for your space.
Practical notes
This style sits well over polished concrete floors, particularly when the rest of the room runs to raw plaster finishes. It will not stain the way a wool or cotton rug can — wine, juice, and pet accidents lift with a damp cloth if you get to them within a reasonable window. The pile does not snag, which matters if you have a clawed animal in the house. It holds its shape under a heavy sofa and shrugs off the small dents that lighter constructions can't recover from.
If you want a rug that looks like it has always lived there, this is the one.
FAQs
Do you offer samples?
We don't typically send physical samples — most of our customers find the photos and our written notes get them close enough. If you want extra photos in natural light, message us and we'll send them through.
Will this rug shed?
No, not in the meaningful sense. Synthetic pile is heat-set rather than spun from short staple fibres, so you may see a small amount of fibre in the first week and very little after that.
Is the back of the rug latex-coated?
The backing is a standard textile finish — it sits flat on the floor and won't mark timber boards. For hard floors, we'd still recommend a rug pad to keep it from sliding.
Will the pattern repeat be obvious?
Not on this construction. The pattern is woven across the full face of the rug rather than printed, so you won't see the kind of seam-like repetition you sometimes get with a printed surface.
Will the rug fade in direct sun?
Some fade is possible if a rug sits in direct, unfiltered sun day after day — that's true of any rug. The dyes used here are UV-stabilised and hold up well to the conditions in most Australian rooms.
