Roman is a rug collection that offers both style and practicality. Featuring a variety of designs with non-distinct all-over patterns in grey, terracotta, blue, and brown tones, these rugs are versatile and blend seamlessly with a variety of decor styles.

Roman Coconut Husk is the rug we would recommend to a sibling moving into a first home.

How it looks

Cream is the warmest of the neutrals — it lifts a room without going stark white, and it works beautifully with timber, brass, and linen. Up close, the construction details emerge; from across the room, the rug reads as a single restrained colour field. Visually, this is the kind of rug that does not introduce a new design statement — it ties the existing ones together.

Day-to-day

In practice, in a typical Australian living room — polished concrete floors, putty-painted walls — it sits comfortably without competing for attention. Cleaning protocol is intentionally simple: blot fresh spills, vacuum weekly, get a professional clean every few years if it sees heavy use. Pet hair vacuums out cleanly — the fibre does not hold dander the way a natural pile sometimes can. Rotate the rug end-to-end every few months so foot traffic wears evenly across the surface.

How it's made

Made in Turkey on power looms. The Turkish weaving industry has refined power-loom production to a point where the result is genuinely close to the look of a traditionally woven rug. Polypropylene doesn't fade in our harsh Australian sun the way some natural fibres do, and it's the reason we trust it in living rooms with northern light. Run your hand across the surface and the pile feels even from corner to corner — that consistency is what separates a well-made rug from a budget one.

Picking the right size

We carry this in a few sizes — a 160x230cm sits well under a coffee table, a 200x290cm anchors a standard three-piece lounge, and the 240x330cm extends well past a queen bed. See our Rug Size Guide for the full layout breakdown.

We'd recommend Roman Coconut Husk as a starting point for any room that needs a calm, well-made base.

Common questions

Will it cope with kids and pets?

Yes, comfortably. Synthetic pile is stain-resistant, doesn't snag under claws, and lifts spills cleanly. It's the construction we recommend most to growing families.

Do you offer samples?

We don't typically send physical samples — most of our customers find the photos and our written notes get them close enough. If you want extra photos in natural light, message us and we'll send them through.

How do I get rid of a stain?

Blot — never rub. Cool water and a small amount of mild detergent on a clean cloth handles most spills. Work from the outside of the stain in. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.

Does this rug ship rolled or folded?

Rolled. We ship every rug in our range rolled and wrapped — folding can leave a crease in the pile that takes a few weeks to settle out, so we avoid it.

Will the rug fade in direct sun?

Some fade is possible if a rug sits in direct, unfiltered sun day after day — that's true of any rug. The dyes used here are UV-stabilised and hold up well to the conditions in most Australian rooms.
