Roman is a rug collection that offers both style and practicality. Featuring a variety of designs with non-distinct all-over patterns in grey, terracotta, blue, and brown tones, these rugs are versatile and blend seamlessly with a variety of decor styles.
Roman Sanremo Blue Cream Hallway Runner is for the customer who wants the result, not the production story.
About the look
The colour story matters here. Cream is the warmest of the neutrals — it lifts a room without going stark white, and it works beautifully with timber, brass, and linen. The pattern reads as quietly contemporary rather than fashionable — the kind of design that doesn't date in a hurry. From above, the surface has a quiet visual rhythm — close up, the construction details start to show.
How it handles real life
This style sits well over polished concrete floors, particularly when the rest of the room runs to putty-painted walls. Spot-clean with mild detergent and cool water. Avoid harsh chemicals — they're not needed and can damage the dye. It holds its shape under a heavy sofa and shrugs off the small dents that lighter constructions can't recover from.
What's under the surface
In one line: From Turkey's long power-loom tradition. Turkey remains the place where heritage design and modern weaving meet most comfortably — you get the look of a hand-knotted rug at a fraction of the cost. We sell a lot of polypropylene because it does the one thing most Australian families ask of a rug: survive children, dogs, and the occasional glass of red without complaint. At 20mm of pile, this is a true sink-your-feet-in shaggy. Density is what matters with a piece like this — it is what gives the rug its longevity.
On sizing
For hallways and galley kitchens, the 80x300cm length we run here is the most commonly bought — our Rug Size Guide walks through how to pick the right length for your space.
Roman Sanremo Blue Cream Hallway Runner is the rug our family would buy for our own home — and a few of us have.
FAQs
Will it cope with kids and pets?
Yes, comfortably. Synthetic pile is stain-resistant, doesn't snag under claws, and lifts spills cleanly. It's the construction we recommend most to growing families.
Can I cut the rug to size?
We don't recommend cutting a finished rug — the edges are bound and the construction relies on that binding to stay intact. If you need a custom size, message us and we'll see what's possible.
Is the colour the same on both sides?
No — the pile side is the finished face. The reverse shows the construction and is usually a slightly different colour because the dye penetrates the surface rather than the entire fibre.
Can I return it if it isn't right?
Yes — we offer a clear returns window because we know a rug needs to be seen in the actual room. The details are on our returns page, and we'll talk you through it if anything is unclear.
Will it sit flat once unrolled?
Almost always within 24–48 hours. If you see any waves from the rolled packaging, lay the rug pile-up in the room and let it relax overnight — gravity does the rest. For stubborn corners, rolling the rug briefly in the opposite direction usually does it.
