Spend a minute with Roman Pearl Bloom Grey Cream Hallway Runner and you start to understand why we kept it through the last range review.
How it handles real life
Day to day, it pairs especially well with pale oak floorboards and warm white interiors. Spot-clean with mild detergent and cool water. Avoid harsh chemicals — they're not needed and can damage the dye. We have customers who have lived with the same rug for the better part of a decade. It still looks intentional.
About the look
A grey-toned rug is the easiest way to anchor a room without committing to a strong palette. The design holds its proportions at every size we run — the medium and large sizes do not look like enlarged versions of the smaller piece. In strong afternoon light the tones warm noticeably — in cooler southern light, the palette reads slightly more grounded.
About the make
At a glance: Produced in Turkey. We've worked with Turkish mills for decades — the country's heritage in rugs runs deep, and the power-loom programmes are some of the most consistent in the world. Polypropylene does not hold odour the way wool can, which matters in a home with pets or open-plan cooking. A 20mm pile reads as genuinely luxurious — we recommend it for bedrooms and formal lounges rather than high-traffic dining areas. Density is what matters with a piece like this — it is what gives the rug its longevity.
On sizing
Runners are about scale, not just length — leave at least 10cm of floor visible on each side of the runner so the hallway doesn't feel boxed in. Our Rug Size Guide has the proportions we recommend.
We have laid Roman Pearl Bloom Grey Cream Hallway Runner in dozens of styled rooms over the years. It earns its place every time.
Things customers ask
Can I use this with underfloor heating?
Yes — the pile is not so dense that it traps heat, and the backing handles the moderate temperatures typical of residential underfloor systems.
Is the back of the rug latex-coated?
The backing is a standard textile finish — it sits flat on the floor and won't mark timber boards. For hard floors, we'd still recommend a rug pad to keep it from sliding.
Can I cut the rug to size?
We don't recommend cutting a finished rug — the edges are bound and the construction relies on that binding to stay intact. If you need a custom size, message us and we'll see what's possible.
How long does delivery take to my address?
Most metro orders arrive within 3–7 business days. Regional and remote addresses can take a little longer. We'll send tracking the moment your rug leaves the warehouse.
Does the rug have a strong smell when it arrives?
There may be a faint factory or packaging smell on opening — it airs out within a day or two. Lay the rug out, open the windows, and it will settle quickly.
