Day to day, this style sits well over pale oak floorboards, particularly when the rest of the room runs to raw plaster finishes. The synthetic fibre tolerates household cleaners better than wool, but in our experience nothing more aggressive than cool soapy water is ever necessary. It handles a Labrador, a Cavoodle, or two of each. We have heard variations on that brief many times. If you have a Roomba or similar, the pile here is short enough that it will get a proper clean without snagging.
How it looks
Looked at honestly, the design is doing two things. A grey-toned rug is the easiest way to anchor a room without committing to a strong palette. Will it sit flat once unrolled?
Almost always within 24–48 hours. If you see any waves from the rolled packaging, lay the rug pile-up in the room and let it relax overnight — gravity does the rest. For stubborn corners, rolling the rug briefly in the opposite direction usually does it.
