The colour story matters here. Blue is a forgiving colour in a rug — it reads calm, it works in coastal rooms, and it sits beautifully against the white walls common in Australian builds. There is enough variation in the weave to keep the rug from reading flat — it has depth without busyness. Layered over a hard floor, it gives a room the visual weight it usually needs at floor level.
What's under the surface
Underneath the look, engineered and woven in Egypt. Egyptian flatweaves are built for hose-down ease — the construction is dense, the fibres are stabilised, and the result handles a wet patio with no fuss. The yarn here is solution-dyed polypropylene — the colour goes through the fibre rather than sitting on it, so a fade only happens after years in direct sun. At 6mm, this is a low, dense flatweave — easy to vacuum, easy to slide chairs across, and a sensible pick for a dining room. The yarn count is dense enough that the pattern reads sharply without losing softness underfoot.
Day-to-day
Designed for patios, decks, and verandas. Leave it out year-round in most parts of Australia and it will hold its colour through the worst of the sun. Will the colour look the same as the website photo?
