What's under the surface
Belgian-woven. Belgian mills are the benchmark for machine-made design definition. The look is crisper than what you'd get from most other origins. What polypropylene gives up in heritage feel it more than makes back in colourfastness and easy upkeep. At 15mm, the pile is on the plusher side of our range — it has the kind of give that makes a bedroom rug worth waking up to. Look at the underside and you can see how dense the weave actually is — it is the part of the rug that does the real work.
On colour
Worth a moment on the look of it. A grey-toned rug is the easiest way to anchor a room without committing to a strong palette. Classical medallion-and-border layout, but the colour palette has been softened so it sits comfortably in a contemporary room. Photographs flatten the surface; in person, the weave reads with more dimension than any catalogue image can convey.
Living with it

Questions we get asked
Can I use this with underfloor heating?
Yes — the pile is not so dense that it traps heat, and the backing handles the moderate temperatures typical of residential underfloor systems.
Will it sit flat once unrolled?
Almost always within 24–48 hours. If you see any waves from the rolled packaging, lay the rug pile-up in the room and let it relax overnight — gravity does the rest. For stubborn corners, rolling the rug briefly in the opposite direction usually does it.
Is the colour the same on both sides?
No — the pile side is the finished face. The reverse shows the construction and is usually a slightly different colour because the dye penetrates the surface rather than the entire fibre.
Will this rug shed?
No, not in the meaningful sense. Synthetic pile is heat-set rather than spun from short staple fibres, so you may see a small amount of fibre in the first week and very little after that.
Can I return it if it isn't right?
