What's under the surface
Produced in Turkey. Turkey has been the centre of rug-making for centuries, and the power-loom tradition that came out of Anatolia in the late 20th century is what makes a piece like this possible at a sensible price. The yarn here is solution-dyed polypropylene — the colour goes through the fibre rather than sitting on it, so a fade only happens after years in direct sun. The 15mm pile gives this rug genuine softness underfoot — particularly good for a bedroom or a sitting room you actually want to sit on the floor in. Run your hand across the surface and the pile feels even from corner to corner — that consistency is what separates a well-made rug from a budget one.
Practical notes
Day to day, we see this style most often in a Perth open-plan living-dining where one large rug has to define both zones. A handheld vacuum and a damp cloth handle ninety percent of what you will need to do to keep this rug looking right. The pile does not snag, which matters if you have a clawed animal in the house. Will the colour look the same as the website photo?
Very close, but never identical — every screen renders colour slightly differently, and the rug itself will read warmer or cooler depending on the light in your room. If you want certainty, message us and we'll send additional photos taken in natural light.
Will the pattern repeat be obvious?
Not on this construction. The pattern is woven across the full face of the rug rather than printed, so you won't see the kind of seam-like repetition you sometimes get with a printed surface.
How long does delivery take to my address?
Most metro orders arrive within 3–7 business days. Regional and remote addresses can take a little longer. We'll send tracking the moment your rug leaves the warehouse.
How thick is the rug overall?
The total thickness includes the pile plus the backing — for most of our rugs, that ends up somewhere between 8mm and 30mm depending on the pile listed. If you need a precise figure for a door clearance, message us and we'll measure.
Will this rug shed?
No, not in the meaningful sense. Synthetic pile is heat-set rather than spun from short staple fibres, so you may see a small amount of fibre in the first week and very little after that.
