A statement of style, this collection features bold, contemporary designs. Machine woven to the highest quality in Turkey, these rugs feature a easy care polypropylene fiber to complement your home.
If we had to recommend a single rug for an everyday family living room, Novas Grey Red Runner would be on the short list.
About the look
The colour story matters here. A grey-toned rug is the easiest way to anchor a room without committing to a strong palette. Stand a metre back and the pattern recedes into texture — that quality is why the rug reads calm rather than busy. It is the kind of surface that lets the rest of your room read clearly without competing.
How it's made
In one line: Anatolian-woven. Turkey has been the centre of rug-making for centuries, and the power-loom tradition that came out of Anatolia in the late 20th century is what makes a piece like this possible at a sensible price. Lightweight, water-resistant, mould-resistant, and quietly comfortable underfoot — polypropylene is the rug fibre that does the most with the least. The pile height is 15mm — substantial enough to feel luxurious without crossing into shaggy territory. Density is what matters with a piece like this — it is what gives the rug its longevity.
How it handles real life
In a real Australian room, it pairs especially well with warm timber floors and putty-painted walls. Vacuum on a medium setting weekly, and once a month go over the rug end-to-end with the suction set higher to lift trapped dust from the base. If you have a Roomba or similar, the pile here is short enough that it will get a proper clean without snagging.
On sizing
A runner needs to leave a hand's-width of floor visible at each end of the hallway — see our Rug Size Guide for the room-by-room guidance.
We'd back this one as a confident first rug for any family home.
FAQs
Will the rug fade in direct sun?
Some fade is possible if a rug sits in direct, unfiltered sun day after day — that's true of any rug. The dyes used here are UV-stabilised and hold up well to the conditions in most Australian rooms.
How thick is the rug overall?
The total thickness includes the pile plus the backing — for most of our rugs, that ends up somewhere between 8mm and 30mm depending on the pile listed. If you need a precise figure for a door clearance, message us and we'll measure.
Can I return it if it isn't right?
Yes — we offer a clear returns window because we know a rug needs to be seen in the actual room. The details are on our returns page, and we'll talk you through it if anything is unclear.
How do I get rid of a stain?
Blot — never rub. Cool water and a small amount of mild detergent on a clean cloth handles most spills. Work from the outside of the stain in. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.
Can I cut the rug to size?
We don't recommend cutting a finished rug — the edges are bound and the construction relies on that binding to stay intact. If you need a custom size, message us and we'll see what's possible.
