The Decora range abounds with beautiful, delicate, floral designs that celebrate the clever combination of well-coordinated colour with exciting texture. These rugs, with their vibrancy, are certain to light up even the dullest of spaces. Detailed enough to set off the simplest of furnishings, these rugs are nevertheless subtle enough to blend well in most living areas. Experience the pleasure of traditional design with modern-day resilience, a floor-piece that is eye-catching, but practical in every sense.
We get asked for rugs like Decora Beige more often than almost any other style.
On colour
Beige has come a long way from the 1990s — modern beige rugs carry a warm, taupe-leaning tone that reads sophisticated rather than dated. The motif is a modern reading of a traditional layout — there is enough of the original character to feel inherited, without the formal weight of an antique. Photographs flatten the surface; in person, the weave reads with more dimension than any catalogue image can convey.
How it handles real life
In any room with warm timber floors, this rug adds the visual weight the floor needs to feel finished. A handheld vacuum and a damp cloth handle ninety percent of what you will need to do to keep this rug looking right. It holds its shape under a heavy sofa and shrugs off the small dents that lighter constructions can't recover from.
Built and finished
Underneath the look, made in Belgium on Wilton looms. The Wilton tradition in Belgium produces rugs with extremely fine pattern detail — the kind of edge clarity that holds up under close inspection. Polypropylene is the fibre we end up recommending in roughly four out of five conversations with new customers. It is honest, hard-wearing, and forgiving. This is a 15mm pile — soft, considered, with enough density to spring back from foot traffic without flattening. Edges are bound and finished cleanly so they sit flat and stay flat.
On sizing
We carry this in a few sizes — a 160x230cm sits well under a coffee table, a 200x290cm anchors a standard three-piece lounge, and the 240x330cm extends well past a queen bed. See our Rug Size Guide for the full layout breakdown.
We'd recommend Decora Beige as a starting point for any room that needs a calm, well-made base.
Questions we get asked
Can I put a rug pad underneath?
Yes, and we'd recommend it on hard floors. A pad keeps the rug from slipping, adds a little extra softness underfoot, and helps the pile wear evenly over time.
How do I get rid of a stain?
Blot — never rub. Cool water and a small amount of mild detergent on a clean cloth handles most spills. Work from the outside of the stain in. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.
Will the colour look the same as the website photo?
Very close, but never identical — every screen renders colour slightly differently, and the rug itself will read warmer or cooler depending on the light in your room. If you want certainty, message us and we'll send additional photos taken in natural light.
Can I cut the rug to size?
We don't recommend cutting a finished rug — the edges are bound and the construction relies on that binding to stay intact. If you need a custom size, message us and we'll see what's possible.
Do you offer samples?
We don't typically send physical samples — most of our customers find the photos and our written notes get them close enough. If you want extra photos in natural light, message us and we'll send them through.
