How it's made
The short version: Made in Turkey on power looms. Turkey has been the centre of rug-making for centuries, and the power-loom tradition that came out of Anatolia in the late 20th century is what makes a piece like this possible at a sensible price. Polypropylene is the fibre we end up recommending in roughly four out of five conversations with new customers. It is honest, hard-wearing, and forgiving. The 20mm pile is what gives this rug its plush hand-feel. It is best in rooms where comfort matters more than vacuum frequency. Build quality holds up to close inspection — there are no shortcuts in the weave or the finish.
Day-to-day
Picture Spotted gum floors and off-white walls — that is the kind of room this rug is at home in. The synthetic fibre tolerates household cleaners better than wool, but in our experience nothing more aggressive than cool soapy water is ever necessary. We sell more of this style to families with school-age children than to any other group, which says something about how it lives.
On colour
Worth a moment on the look of it. Cream-based rugs sit comfortably in almost any palette — they brighten without bleaching the room out. Tonally, the rug shifts subtly through the day — warmer in morning light, more grounded in the cooler hours of the afternoon. It is the kind of surface that lets the rest of your room read clearly without competing.

Common questions
Does the rug have a strong smell when it arrives?
There may be a faint factory or packaging smell on opening — it airs out within a day or two. Lay the rug out, open the windows, and it will settle quickly.
Will it sit flat once unrolled?
Almost always within 24–48 hours. If you see any waves from the rolled packaging, lay the rug pile-up in the room and let it relax overnight — gravity does the rest. For stubborn corners, rolling the rug briefly in the opposite direction usually does it.
Is the back of the rug latex-coated?
The backing is a standard textile finish — it sits flat on the floor and won't mark timber boards. For hard floors, we'd still recommend a rug pad to keep it from sliding.
Will the colour look the same as the website photo?
Very close, but never identical — every screen renders colour slightly differently, and the rug itself will read warmer or cooler depending on the light in your room. If you want certainty, message us and we'll send additional photos taken in natural light.
How long does delivery take to my address?
Most metro orders arrive within 3–7 business days. Regional and remote addresses can take a little longer. We'll send tracking the moment your rug leaves the warehouse.
