It is rare for a piece to satisfy both the value-conscious buyer and the customer renovating to keep — Medina Grey Runner manages both.

How it's made

In one line: Made in Turkey. Turkey has been the centre of rug-making for centuries, and the power-loom tradition that came out of Anatolia in the late 20th century is what makes a piece like this possible at a sensible price. Polypropylene yarns take colour exceptionally well — the tones you see in the photo are stable and hold up under daily sun exposure. At 10mm, this is a sensible everyday pile — substantial without being shaggy, easy to keep clean. The construction is built to take the daily compression of foot traffic without flattening through the centre.

How it handles real life

In practice, picture pale oak floorboards and high white walls with skirting in cream — that is the kind of room this rug is at home in. For everyday care, vacuum weekly and spot-clean spills as they happen — a damp cloth and a small amount of mild detergent handles almost anything. Pet-friendly in the most useful sense: claws won't catch the way they do on a looped pile, and the surface vacuums cleanly. It holds its shape under a heavy sofa and shrugs off the small dents that lighter constructions can't recover from.

On the design

What is happening at the surface is straightforward. Grey rugs sit quietly in a room and let the rest of the space do the talking — it's why they outsell almost everything else we carry. There is enough variation in the weave to keep the rug from reading flat — it has depth without busyness. Across a 200x290cm or 240x330cm, that calm reads as confidence rather than absence.

Sizing

A runner needs to leave a hand's-width of floor visible at each end of the hallway — see our Rug Size Guide for the room-by-room guidance.

We sell a lot of Medina Grey Runner, and the reason is straightforward — it does the work without making a fuss.

Questions we get asked

Will this rug shed?

No, not in the meaningful sense. Synthetic pile is heat-set rather than spun from short staple fibres, so you may see a small amount of fibre in the first week and very little after that.

How long does delivery take to my address?

Most metro orders arrive within 3–7 business days. Regional and remote addresses can take a little longer. We'll send tracking the moment your rug leaves the warehouse.

Will it cope with kids and pets?

Yes, comfortably. Synthetic pile is stain-resistant, doesn't snag under claws, and lifts spills cleanly. It's the construction we recommend most to growing families.

Will the colour look the same as the website photo?

Very close, but never identical — every screen renders colour slightly differently, and the rug itself will read warmer or cooler depending on the light in your room. If you want certainty, message us and we'll send additional photos taken in natural light.

Will it sit flat once unrolled?

Almost always within 24–48 hours. If you see any waves from the rolled packaging, lay the rug pile-up in the room and let it relax overnight — gravity does the rest. For stubborn corners, rolling the rug briefly in the opposite direction usually does it.
