The Eternal Tassel Blue Grey rug brings a refined, considered feel to a living room or bedroom. The dense, plush pile feels genuinely luxurious underfoot, and the subtle border design frames the rug without dominating the space. Small tassel ends are a nod to traditional Turkish craftsmanship — a small detail that makes a real difference to how the rug finishes.
Take Eternal Tassel Blue Grey Modern out of the box and the colour is closer to the photo than most rugs we ship — which is a small but meaningful thing.
On colour
Worth a moment on the look of it. We sell more cream rugs than any other colour. They suit the way most Australians live: warm-neutral walls, pale timbers, lots of natural light. The pattern is woven across the full face of the rug rather than printed, so it has real depth in the surface. We have laid this in rooms with bold artwork above and minimal furniture, and it sits comfortably in both.
Day-to-day
In a real Australian room, it earns its keep in any room that has dark hardwood floors as a starting point. Polyester takes well to spot-cleaning — a damp cloth, cool water, and mild detergent will handle most everyday spills. It holds its shape under a heavy sofa and shrugs off the small dents that lighter constructions can't recover from.
How it's made
In one line: Woven in Turkey. Turkey has been the centre of rug-making for centuries, and the power-loom tradition that came out of Anatolia in the late 20th century is what makes a piece like this possible at a sensible price. Polyester yarns hold dye exceptionally well, which is why the colours on this piece look as rich as they do. A 11mm pile feels soft on bare feet but doesn't trap dust the way a longer pile can. Run your hand across the surface and the pile feels even from corner to corner — that consistency is what separates a well-made rug from a budget one.
Picking the right size
We carry this in a few sizes — a 160x230cm sits well under a coffee table, a 200x290cm anchors a standard three-piece lounge, and the 240x330cm extends well past a queen bed. See our Rug Size Guide for the full layout breakdown.
If you are renovating and want one piece that won't fight the rest of your choices, this is it.
Questions we get asked
Does this rug ship rolled or folded?
Rolled. We ship every rug in our range rolled and wrapped — folding can leave a crease in the pile that takes a few weeks to settle out, so we avoid it.
Can I cut the rug to size?
We don't recommend cutting a finished rug — the edges are bound and the construction relies on that binding to stay intact. If you need a custom size, message us and we'll see what's possible.
Does it work with a robot vacuum?
Yes for low and medium piles. For the deeper shaggies in our range, a robot vacuum will struggle a bit — you'll get better results with a regular upright on a higher setting.
Will this rug shed?
No, not in the meaningful sense. Synthetic pile is heat-set rather than spun from short staple fibres, so you may see a small amount of fibre in the first week and very little after that.
Can I put a rug pad underneath?
Yes, and we'd recommend it on hard floors. A pad keeps the rug from slipping, adds a little extra softness underfoot, and helps the pile wear evenly over time.
