Harmony Powder Blue is a beautifully versatile flatweave rug crafted for both indoor and outdoor use. Its durable, hard-wearing texture and low-maintenance flat pile make it ideal for busy homes, easy to clean and fully washable, simply hose it down when needed.
Among the rugs we carry, Harmony Powder Blue Indoor Outdoor is one of the easiest to recommend.
Day-to-day
Built for indoor-outdoor use — the flat construction handles weather, the dye is UV-stabilised, and a hose-down sees off most of what an Australian summer can throw at it. If a spill dries before you get to it, dampen the area with cool water, work the cloth from the outside in, and the dried residue lifts back out. If you have a Roomba or similar, the pile here is short enough that it will get a proper clean without snagging.
On the design
The palette here is restrained, which is exactly what most of our customers tell us they're looking for. The pattern is woven across the full face of the rug rather than printed, so it has real depth in the surface. From the kitchen looking through to the lounge, the rug reads as a single grounding plane rather than a competing pattern.
Construction
In one line: Produced in Egypt for outdoor durability. Egyptian-made indoor/outdoor rugs are engineered to sit in direct sun and weather without losing their colour. Polypropylene is the workhorse fibre of modern rugs — it doesn't absorb spills, it doesn't hold dust, and it bounces back from foot traffic faster than wool. A 6mm pile keeps this piece flat enough for a dining room or hallway where dragged chairs would chew up a deeper weave. Density is what matters with a piece like this — it is what gives the rug its longevity.
Which size?
For sizing, the short version is: front legs of the sofa should sit on the rug. For the long version, see our Rug Size Guide.
If the rest of your room is settled, Harmony Powder Blue Indoor Outdoor will not unsettle it.
Common questions
Will the pattern repeat be obvious?
Not on this construction. The pattern is woven across the full face of the rug rather than printed, so you won't see the kind of seam-like repetition you sometimes get with a printed surface.
Can I cut the rug to size?
We don't recommend cutting a finished rug — the edges are bound and the construction relies on that binding to stay intact. If you need a custom size, message us and we'll see what's possible.
Can I put a rug pad underneath?
Yes, and we'd recommend it on hard floors. A pad keeps the rug from slipping, adds a little extra softness underfoot, and helps the pile wear evenly over time.
How thick is the rug overall?
The total thickness includes the pile plus the backing — for most of our rugs, that ends up somewhere between 8mm and 30mm depending on the pile listed. If you need a precise figure for a door clearance, message us and we'll measure.
Can I use this with underfloor heating?
Yes — the pile is not so dense that it traps heat, and the backing handles the moderate temperatures typical of residential underfloor systems.
