Harmony Linen is a stylish flatweave rug crafted for both indoor and outdoor use. Built with a durable, hard-wearing texture, it is designed to handle everyday living with ease. The flat pile makes it simple to maintain, fully washable and easy to refresh, just hose it down.
We carry Harmony Linen Natural Indoor Outdoor because the brief on it has not changed in five years: a calm, well-made rug that handles real life.
Built and finished
At a glance: Made in Egypt. Egyptian-made indoor/outdoor rugs are engineered to sit in direct sun and weather without losing their colour. Lightweight, water-resistant, mould-resistant, and quietly comfortable underfoot — polypropylene is the rug fibre that does the most with the least. Look at the underside and you can see how dense the weave actually is — it is the part of the rug that does the real work.
On the design
The colour story matters here. The colour story sits on the warm side of neutral, which makes it easy to layer with timber and linen. The pattern reads as quietly contemporary rather than fashionable — the kind of design that doesn't date in a hurry. Walk past it daily and you stop noticing it consciously — which is the highest compliment a quiet rug can earn.
Practical notes
Designed for patios, decks, and verandas. Leave it out year-round in most parts of Australia and it will hold its colour through the worst of the sun. Vacuum on a medium setting weekly, and once a month go over the rug end-to-end with the suction set higher to lift trapped dust from the base. Build the room around it. It will hold the centre and stay quiet while the rest of the space changes around it.
On sizing
Sizes range across our usual run — if you're unsure which to pick, our Rug Size Guide walks through the common Australian room layouts.
If your brief is durable, quiet, and warmly familiar, this is the rug we'd put forward.
Common questions
Does it work with a robot vacuum?
Yes for low and medium piles. For the deeper shaggies in our range, a robot vacuum will struggle a bit — you'll get better results with a regular upright on a higher setting.
Does the rug have a strong smell when it arrives?
There may be a faint factory or packaging smell on opening — it airs out within a day or two. Lay the rug out, open the windows, and it will settle quickly.
Is the back of the rug latex-coated?
The backing is a standard textile finish — it sits flat on the floor and won't mark timber boards. For hard floors, we'd still recommend a rug pad to keep it from sliding.
Can I return it if it isn't right?
Yes — we offer a clear returns window because we know a rug needs to be seen in the actual room. The details are on our returns page, and we'll talk you through it if anything is unclear.
Can I cut the rug to size?
We don't recommend cutting a finished rug — the edges are bound and the construction relies on that binding to stay intact. If you need a custom size, message us and we'll see what's possible.
