Pheonix is a rug collection that offers both style and practicality. Featuring a variety of designs with non-distinct all-over patterns in grey, terracotta, blue, and brown tones, these rugs are versatile and blend seamlessly with a variety of decor styles.
We added Pheonix Temptress to the range for one reason: it does the basics extremely well.
About the look
The colour story matters here. Blue-toned rugs lift a room without dominating it. They pair especially well with brass, oak, and a lot of natural light. There is depth to the surface — the weave changes height subtly across the pattern, which is what gives the rug its tactile quality. The design is balanced enough to centre a coffee table and quiet enough to let a strong artwork dominate above it.
Construction
At a glance: Produced in Turkey. We've worked with Turkish mills for decades — the country's heritage in rugs runs deep, and the power-loom programmes are some of the most consistent in the world. Polypropylene is a thermoplastic, which means stains do not bond to the fibre the way they would with a natural staple. The back of the rug shows the construction clearly — close, even stitching, no slack spots, no thin patches.
Practical notes
In practice, among the rooms our customers describe to us, in a Fitzroy terrace where the rug is the warm element in an otherwise cool, industrial room is the most common context for a piece like this. Synthetic pile means you can keep on top of it without specialist care — a regular vacuum and the occasional damp wipe is the entire maintenance routine. Pet hair vacuums out cleanly — the fibre does not hold dander the way a natural pile sometimes can. Build the room around it. It will hold the centre and stay quiet while the rest of the space changes around it.
Picking the right size
We carry this in a few sizes — a 160x230cm sits well under a coffee table, a 200x290cm anchors a standard three-piece lounge, and the 240x330cm extends well past a queen bed. See our Rug Size Guide for the full layout breakdown.
Reliable, calm, hard-wearing — three words that describe Pheonix Temptress fairly.
Common questions
Will this rug shed?
No, not in the meaningful sense. Synthetic pile is heat-set rather than spun from short staple fibres, so you may see a small amount of fibre in the first week and very little after that.
Does it work with a robot vacuum?
Yes for low and medium piles. For the deeper shaggies in our range, a robot vacuum will struggle a bit — you'll get better results with a regular upright on a higher setting.
Is the colour the same on both sides?
No — the pile side is the finished face. The reverse shows the construction and is usually a slightly different colour because the dye penetrates the surface rather than the entire fibre.
Can I steam clean this rug?
Light steam is fine for synthetic pile. Avoid prolonged direct heat in one spot, and let the rug dry completely before walking on it.
Can I return it if it isn't right?
Yes — we offer a clear returns window because we know a rug needs to be seen in the actual room. The details are on our returns page, and we'll talk you through it if anything is unclear.
