The Charlotte Collection features a neutral palette of rugs exemplified by its high and low shrunken yarn construction. Made from 100% polypropylene, these Turkish-made rugs are hard-wearing and easy to clean. Perfect for those seeking non-distinct patterns with a natural collection of colors, these rugs add a subtle touch of elegance to any space.

Honest about its construction, calm in its palette — Harmony Haven Runner is straightforward to live with.

What's under the surface

At a glance: Turkish-made. We've worked with Turkish mills for decades — the country's heritage in rugs runs deep, and the power-loom programmes are some of the most consistent in the world. The case for polypropylene in a family room is straightforward: it is cheaper to replace than upholstery and tougher to ruin than wool. The 11mm pile sits in the sweet spot for everyday living — soft enough to feel good underfoot, short enough that the vacuum gets right to the base. Edges are bound and finished cleanly so they sit flat and stay flat.

About the look

The colour story matters here. Charcoal grounds a room in a way that pale neutrals never quite do — it makes timber furniture look richer and lets pale walls breathe. Up close you can see how the dye sits in the fibre — saturated, even, with none of the patchiness of a cheaper construction. Across a 200x290cm or 240x330cm, that calm reads as confidence rather than absence.

Living with it

In a real Australian room, among the rooms our customers describe to us, in a Perth open-plan living-dining where one large rug has to define both zones is the most common context for a piece like this. Vacuum on a medium setting weekly, and once a month go over the rug end-to-end with the suction set higher to lift trapped dust from the base. It handles a Labrador, a Cavoodle, or two of each. We have heard variations on that brief many times. Once you have it down, the rug is one of the lowest-maintenance pieces of furniture you will ever buy.

Sizing

A runner needs to leave a hand's-width of floor visible at each end of the hallway — see our Rug Size Guide for the room-by-room guidance.

Harmony Haven Runner suits the customer who wants the room finished, not the next decision.

Questions we get asked

Does the rug have a strong smell when it arrives?

There may be a faint factory or packaging smell on opening — it airs out within a day or two. Lay the rug out, open the windows, and it will settle quickly.

Will it cope with kids and pets?

Yes, comfortably. Synthetic pile is stain-resistant, doesn't snag under claws, and lifts spills cleanly. It's the construction we recommend most to growing families.

How do I get rid of a stain?

Blot — never rub. Cool water and a small amount of mild detergent on a clean cloth handles most spills. Work from the outside of the stain in. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.

Can I use this with underfloor heating?

Yes — the pile is not so dense that it traps heat, and the backing handles the moderate temperatures typical of residential underfloor systems.

Will the rug fade in direct sun?

Some fade is possible if a rug sits in direct, unfiltered sun day after day — that's true of any rug. The dyes used here are UV-stabilised and hold up well to the conditions in most Australian rooms.
