Size

The Vienna range, machine-made in Turkey, showcases contemporary designs with versatile, non-distinctive patterns and neutral tones, effortlessly compatible with various living spaces. Its 8-millimeter polypropylene pile ensures easy cleaning, making it perfect for high-traffic areas.

Vienna Dark Grey Cream is for the customer who wants the result, not the production story.

What's under the surface

Underneath the look, made in Turkey. Turkey remains the place where heritage design and modern weaving meet most comfortably — you get the look of a hand-knotted rug at a fraction of the cost. Polypropylene is the fibre we end up recommending in roughly four out of five conversations with new customers. It is honest, hard-wearing, and forgiving. At 21mm of pile, this is a true sink-your-feet-in shaggy. Run your hand across the surface and the pile feels even from corner to corner — that consistency is what separates a well-made rug from a budget one.

How it handles real life

Among the rooms our customers describe to us, under a dining table on tiled or concrete floors where some softness is needed underfoot is the most common context for a piece like this. Synthetic pile means you can keep on top of it without specialist care — a regular vacuum and the occasional damp wipe is the entire maintenance routine. Rotate the rug end-to-end every few months so foot traffic wears evenly across the surface.

How it looks

Looked at honestly, the design is doing two things. A grey-toned rug is the easiest way to anchor a room without committing to a strong palette. The pattern reads as quietly contemporary rather than fashionable — the kind of design that doesn't date in a hurry. It plays nicely with a low timber coffee table, a linen sofa, and the kind of considered clutter most lived-in rooms accumulate.

Which size?

If this is going under a dining table, measure the table and add at least 60cm on each side so the chairs stay on the rug when pulled out. The Rug Size Guide walks through the details.

Order Vienna Dark Grey Cream if your room is ready for something quietly grown-up at floor level.

Common questions

Can I cut the rug to size?

We don't recommend cutting a finished rug — the edges are bound and the construction relies on that binding to stay intact. If you need a custom size, message us and we'll see what's possible.

Can I use this with underfloor heating?

Yes — the pile is not so dense that it traps heat, and the backing handles the moderate temperatures typical of residential underfloor systems.

Will this rug shed?

No, not in the meaningful sense. Synthetic pile is heat-set rather than spun from short staple fibres, so you may see a small amount of fibre in the first week and very little after that.

Do you offer samples?

We don't typically send physical samples — most of our customers find the photos and our written notes get them close enough. If you want extra photos in natural light, message us and we'll send them through.

Can I steam clean this rug?

Light steam is fine for synthetic pile. Avoid prolonged direct heat in one spot, and let the rug dry completely before walking on it.
