The subtle design of the Chester collection features an eclectic blend of dappled blue, green and grey shading, which is both cool and inviting. Although ornamental the marbled synthesis of color will never overpower complementary decor elements, making this range perfect for any living space. Great with wood, gorgeous over tiles, and available in a variety of sizes, the Chester rug is simple to clean and will remain attractive for years to come. FEATURES:

About the make
At a glance: Made in Belgium on Wilton looms. Belgium's Wilton looms are some of the most exacting in the world — the colour separation and pattern definition you get from them is hard to match elsewhere. Polypropylene doesn't fade in our harsh Australian sun the way some natural fibres do, and it's the reason we trust it in living rooms with northern light. A 9mm pile feels soft on bare feet but doesn't trap dust the way a longer pile can. The back of the rug shows the construction clearly — close, even stitching, no slack spots, no thin patches.
How it handles real life
In a real Australian room, we see this style most often in a renovated 1920s terrace in Paddington where the bones of the room are doing the heavy lifting. Care for this one as you would a hard floor — sweep or vacuum regularly and address spills when they happen. The fibre does the rest. Drag a chair, drop a fork, knock over the wine — this construction tolerates all three.
On colour
What is happening at the surface is straightforward. Beige has come a long way from the 1990s — modern beige rugs carry a warm, taupe-leaning tone that reads sophisticated rather than dated. Up close, the construction details emerge; from across the room, the rug reads as a single restrained colour field. Photographs flatten the surface; in person, the weave reads with more dimension than any catalogue image can convey.
Picking the right size
For hallways and galley kitchens, the 80x300cm length we run here is the most commonly bought — our Rug Size Guide walks through how to pick the right length for your space.
If you have been circling rugs for weeks, Chester Runner Brick is a sensible place to stop.
Common questions
Do you offer samples?
We don't typically send physical samples — most of our customers find the photos and our written notes get them close enough. If you want extra photos in natural light, message us and we'll send them through.
Can I steam clean this rug?
Light steam is fine for synthetic pile. Avoid prolonged direct heat in one spot, and let the rug dry completely before walking on it.
How long does delivery take to my address?
Most metro orders arrive within 3–7 business days. Regional and remote addresses can take a little longer. We'll send tracking the moment your rug leaves the warehouse.
Can I use this with underfloor heating?
Yes — the pile is not so dense that it traps heat, and the backing handles the moderate temperatures typical of residential underfloor systems.
Is the back of the rug latex-coated?
The backing is a standard textile finish — it sits flat on the floor and won't mark timber boards. For hard floors, we'd still recommend a rug pad to keep it from sliding.
