The colour story matters here. Red-toned rugs sit at the heart of a lot of traditional Turkish weaving — they bring warmth and a sense of occasion to a room. The motif is restrained enough to sit under almost any furniture without competing. Layered over a hard floor, it gives a room the visual weight it usually needs at floor level.
What's under the surface
The short version: Made for the realities of family life. What matters with this piece is the construction — it's made to take real family use without fuss. Polypropylene is a thermoplastic, which means stains do not bond to the fibre the way they would with a natural staple. At 6mm, this is a low, dense flatweave — easy to vacuum, easy to slide chairs across, and a sensible pick for a dining room. Pile twist and density together are what give this piece the longevity that the warranty implies.
Practical notes
In practice, built for indoor-outdoor use — the flat construction handles weather, the dye is UV-stabilised, and a hose-down sees off most of what an Australian summer can throw at it. How long does delivery take to my address?
Most metro orders arrive within 3–7 business days. Regional and remote addresses can take a little longer. We'll send tracking the moment your rug leaves the warehouse.
Does the rug have a strong smell when it arrives?
There may be a faint factory or packaging smell on opening — it airs out within a day or two. Lay the rug out, open the windows, and it will settle quickly.
How do I get rid of a stain?
Hose it down. If the spill is something serious, a mild detergent and a soft brush will get the rest, and the sun finishes the job.
How thick is the rug overall?
The total thickness includes the pile plus the backing — for most of our rugs, that ends up somewhere between 8mm and 30mm depending on the pile listed. If you need a precise figure for a door clearance, message us and we'll measure.
Will the pattern repeat be obvious?
Not on this construction. The pattern is woven across the full face of the rug rather than printed, so you won't see the kind of seam-like repetition you sometimes get with a printed surface.
