Montana Flamingo has the quiet self-confidence of a well-made object — no styling tricks, no marketing veneer.
Built and finished
In one line: Made for the realities of family life. We've curated this one for its honest, hard-wearing build rather than for any particular regional story. Polypropylene fibre handles wine, juice, and muddy paws with a damp cloth and a bit of patience — which is why we recommend it to most growing families. The pile sits at 6mm, which is firmly in flatweave territory — dense, hard-wearing, and friendly to a vacuum. Selvedges are finished cleanly so the rug sits flush against itself without curling at the edges.
How it looks
Looked at honestly, the design is doing two things. Red-toned rugs sit at the heart of a lot of traditional Turkish weaving — they bring warmth and a sense of occasion to a room. The motif is restrained enough to sit under almost any furniture without competing. We have laid this in rooms with bold artwork above and minimal furniture, and it sits comfortably in both.
Day-to-day
Designed for patios, decks, and verandas. Leave it out year-round in most parts of Australia and it will hold its colour through the worst of the sun. Cleaning protocol is intentionally simple: blot fresh spills, vacuum weekly, get a professional clean every few years if it sees heavy use. Build the room around it. It will hold the centre and stay quiet while the rest of the space changes around it.
Picking the right size
If this is going under a dining table, measure the table and add at least 60cm on each side so the chairs stay on the rug when pulled out. The Rug Size Guide walks through the details.
Add Montana Flamingo to a room that has good bones and let it sit quietly underneath everything else.
Things customers ask
Can I cut the rug to size?
We don't recommend cutting a finished rug — the edges are bound and the construction relies on that binding to stay intact. If you need a custom size, message us and we'll see what's possible.
Will it sit flat once unrolled?
Almost always within 24–48 hours. If you see any waves from the rolled packaging, lay the rug pile-up in the room and let it relax overnight — gravity does the rest. For stubborn corners, rolling the rug briefly in the opposite direction usually does it.
Do you offer samples?
We don't typically send physical samples — most of our customers find the photos and our written notes get them close enough. If you want extra photos in natural light, message us and we'll send them through.
Will it cope with kids and pets?
Yes, comfortably. Synthetic pile is stain-resistant, doesn't snag under claws, and lifts spills cleanly. It's the construction we recommend most to growing families.
Can I put a rug pad underneath?
Yes, and we'd recommend it on hard floors. A pad keeps the rug from slipping, adds a little extra softness underfoot, and helps the pile wear evenly over time.
