The Allure Silver Mist is a rug you feel before you see it. Made from thick, heavy wool yarn with a loop pile construction, it has a volume and softness underfoot that is genuinely different from any machine-made alternative. Each loop is handwoven by artisans in India — a painstaking process that creates a finish of extraordinary consistency and depth. The silver mist tones add a cool, sophisticated visual character to match.
Customers tend to commit to Allure Silver Mist Wool after looking at it twice. There is something honest about the construction that survives a second look.
Colour and pattern
Looked at honestly, the design is doing two things. A grey-toned rug is the easiest way to anchor a room without committing to a strong palette. There is enough variation in the weave to keep the rug from reading flat — it has depth without busyness. Up close, you can see how the colour shifts slightly across the pile — that subtle variation is what stops the surface looking printed.
Built and finished
Underneath the look, woven in India on traditional handlooms. India's handloom workshops produce textile pieces with a tactile quality that's very hard to replicate on a machine. Wool is the original rug fibre for a reason — it's naturally stain-resistant, it ages gracefully, and it has a warmth underfoot that no synthetic quite replicates. Run your hand across the surface and the pile feels even from corner to corner — that consistency is what separates a well-made rug from a budget one.
Picking the right size
If you are between sizes, we almost always recommend sizing up. Our Rug Size Guide has the room-by-room measurements we use ourselves.
Living with it
Day to day, it pairs especially well with limestone tiles and soft Dulux Whisper White interiors. A wool rug will shed lightly for the first few months — this is normal and slows quickly. Vacuum gently and let the rug settle in. If you have a Roomba or similar, the pile here is short enough that it will get a proper clean without snagging.
If your brief sits anywhere near 'considered, calm, and built to last', this is the rug.
Common questions
Will it cope with kids and pets?
Yes — wool is naturally stain-resistant and has been used in family homes for centuries. The fibre tolerates real life better than people often expect.
Does this rug ship rolled or folded?
Rolled. We ship every rug in our range rolled and wrapped — folding can leave a crease in the pile that takes a few weeks to settle out, so we avoid it.
Is the colour the same on both sides?
No — the pile side is the finished face. The reverse shows the construction and is usually a slightly different colour because the dye penetrates the surface rather than the entire fibre.
Can I steam clean this rug?
We don't recommend steam cleaning wool — professional dry cleaning is the safer path.
How do I get rid of a stain?
Blot immediately with a clean dry cloth — don't rub. For most spills, cool water and a tiny amount of wool-safe detergent will do it. For wine or anything stubborn, call a professional rug cleaner rather than scrubbing it yourself.
