The Allure Pearl is for the interior that has found its voice and does not need to shout. Neutral in tone, subtly textured, and meticulously handcrafted in India — this is a rug that adds presence and quality to a space without introducing additional colour or visual complexity. The soft, low-profile texture is a mark of the handcrafted process, and the sophisticated neutral tone makes it compatible with virtually any interior direction.
If we made a short list of the safest rugs to commit to without second-guessing, Allure Pearl Wool would be on it.
About the look
Worth a moment on the look of it. Grey rugs sit quietly in a room and let the rest of the space do the talking — it's why they outsell almost everything else we carry. Up close, the construction details emerge; from across the room, the rug reads as a single restrained colour field. From above, the surface has a quiet visual rhythm — close up, the construction details start to show.
Practical notes
Day to day, in a typical Australian living room — blackbutt floorboards, soft Dulux Whisper White interiors — it sits comfortably without competing for attention. A wool rug will shed lightly for the first few months — this is normal and slows quickly. Vacuum gently and let the rug settle in. We sell more of this style to families with school-age children than to any other group, which says something about how it lives.
Built and finished
At a glance: Woven in India on traditional handlooms. India's handloom workshops produce textile pieces with a tactile quality that's very hard to replicate on a machine. The lanolin in wool fibre means most spills sit on the surface long enough to be blotted away before they soak in. At 13mm, the pile is on the plusher side of our range — it has the kind of give that makes a bedroom rug worth waking up to. The back of the rug shows the construction clearly — close, even stitching, no slack spots, no thin patches.
Which size?
For sizing, the short version is: front legs of the sofa should sit on the rug. For the long version, see our Rug Size Guide.
If the rest of your room is settled, Allure Pearl Wool will not unsettle it.
Common questions
Can I return it if it isn't right?
Yes — we offer a clear returns window because we know a rug needs to be seen in the actual room. The details are on our returns page, and we'll talk you through it if anything is unclear.
How long does delivery take to my address?
Most metro orders arrive within 3–7 business days. Regional and remote addresses can take a little longer. We'll send tracking the moment your rug leaves the warehouse.
Will the colour look the same as the website photo?
Very close, but never identical — every screen renders colour slightly differently, and the rug itself will read warmer or cooler depending on the light in your room. If you want certainty, message us and we'll send additional photos taken in natural light.
Can I cut the rug to size?
We don't recommend cutting a finished rug — the edges are bound and the construction relies on that binding to stay intact. If you need a custom size, message us and we'll see what's possible.
Will this rug shed?
A wool rug will shed lightly for the first three to six months. This is normal — wool fibres come loose at the end of the weave and clear with regular vacuuming. After the initial settle, shedding tails off significantly.
