The Allure Earth Linen brings the warmth and naturalness of its name to a living room or bedroom floor. Handmade in India from high-quality wool with a natural low-pile design, it carries the earthy, organic quality of natural materials — the kind that makes a space feel genuinely grounded and considered. Soft to the touch, a delight to walk on, and textured enough to hold visual interest across a large floor area.

There is a particular kind of buyer who lands on Allure Earth Linen Wool and stays there: someone who has looked at fifty rugs and wants to stop.

On colour

The colour story matters here. We sell more cream rugs than any other colour. They suit the way most Australians live: warm-neutral walls, pale timbers, lots of natural light. Visually, the rug is doing the work of a quiet anchor — not a pattern statement, not a punctuation mark, simply a calm plane underfoot. The design is balanced enough to centre a coffee table and quiet enough to let a strong artwork dominate above it.

Practical notes

In practice, among the rooms our customers describe to us, in a Sandy Bay heritage cottage where the floorboards are old and the rug has to soften everything underfoot is the most common context for a piece like this. Avoid harsh cleaners on wool. Blotting cool water onto a fresh spill, then dabbing dry, is the right first move. Rolling vacuum, ride-on toys, the cat — none of it bothers the surface in any way you will notice.

What's under the surface

Crafted in India. India's handloom workshops produce textile pieces with a tactile quality that's very hard to replicate on a machine. A wool rug behaves differently from a synthetic one. It sheds lightly for the first few months (that's normal), then settles into a piece you'll keep for decades. At 13mm, the pile is on the plusher side of our range — it has the kind of give that makes a bedroom rug worth waking up to. Build quality holds up to close inspection — there are no shortcuts in the weave or the finish.

Picking the right size

For sizing, the short version is: front legs of the sofa should sit on the rug. For the long version, see our Rug Size Guide.

Worth committing to if you want a rug you can live with for the long haul.

FAQs

Will the colour look the same as the website photo?

Very close, but never identical — every screen renders colour slightly differently, and the rug itself will read warmer or cooler depending on the light in your room. If you want certainty, message us and we'll send additional photos taken in natural light.

Will the rug fade in direct sun?

Wool is more sensitive to long direct sun exposure than synthetic fibre — if a section of the rug sits in unfiltered sun all day, expect some softening of tone over the years. Rotating the rug occasionally keeps the wear even.

Is the back of the rug latex-coated?

The backing is a standard textile finish — it sits flat on the floor and won't mark timber boards. For hard floors, we'd still recommend a rug pad to keep it from sliding.

Can I use this with underfloor heating?

Yes — the pile is not so dense that it traps heat, and the backing handles the moderate temperatures typical of residential underfloor systems.

Do you offer samples?

We don't typically send physical samples — most of our customers find the photos and our written notes get them close enough. If you want extra photos in natural light, message us and we'll send them through.
