Our new exclusive Dahlia range are both focused on Contemporary & Modern tailored homes. Design and colours are both muted and soft, so if you are looking to give a hint of texture or a dash of colour, this could be just the thing to bring everything together.
Look closely at Dahlia Beige Dark Beige Runner and the thing you'll notice first is the way the colour holds together.
How it handles real life
In practice, it earns its keep in any room that has dark hardwood floors as a starting point. Care for this one as you would a hard floor — sweep or vacuum regularly and address spills when they happen. The fibre does the rest. It handles a Labrador, a Cavoodle, or two of each. We have heard variations on that brief many times. It tolerates open doors, indoor-outdoor traffic, and the dust that an Australian summer drags in across a polished concrete floor.
About the look
The colour story matters here. Beige is the most forgiving floor colour we carry — it hides dust, dog hair, and the small disasters of daily life better than almost any other shade. Up close you can see how the dye sits in the fibre — saturated, even, with none of the patchiness of a cheaper construction. The longer you sit in a room with this rug, the less you notice it — which is exactly what a good rug is meant to do.
How it's made
At a glance: Anatolian-woven. The Turkish weaving industry has refined power-loom production to a point where the result is genuinely close to the look of a traditionally woven rug. Polypropylene doesn't fade in our harsh Australian sun the way some natural fibres do, and it's the reason we trust it in living rooms with northern light. The 18mm pile gives this rug genuine softness underfoot — particularly good for a bedroom or a sitting room you actually want to sit on the floor in. Edges are bound and finished cleanly so they sit flat and stay flat.
Sizing
A runner needs to leave a hand's-width of floor visible at each end of the hallway — see our Rug Size Guide for the room-by-room guidance.
This is the kind of rug that makes the rest of your decisions easier.
Questions we get asked
Can I cut the rug to size?
We don't recommend cutting a finished rug — the edges are bound and the construction relies on that binding to stay intact. If you need a custom size, message us and we'll see what's possible.
How thick is the rug overall?
The total thickness includes the pile plus the backing — for most of our rugs, that ends up somewhere between 8mm and 30mm depending on the pile listed. If you need a precise figure for a door clearance, message us and we'll measure.
Is the colour the same on both sides?
No — the pile side is the finished face. The reverse shows the construction and is usually a slightly different colour because the dye penetrates the surface rather than the entire fibre.
Can I steam clean this rug?
Light steam is fine for synthetic pile. Avoid prolonged direct heat in one spot, and let the rug dry completely before walking on it.
How do I get rid of a stain?
Blot — never rub. Cool water and a small amount of mild detergent on a clean cloth handles most spills. Work from the outside of the stain in. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.
