Practical notes
In practice, it earns its keep in any room that has polished concrete floors as a starting point. Vacuum, blot, and live with it. That is genuinely the entire maintenance instruction for a rug like this. The pile does not snag, which matters if you have a clawed animal in the house. We have customers who have lived with the same rug for the better part of a decade. It still looks intentional.
How it looks
What is happening at the surface is straightforward. There's a reason grey has been the default neutral of the last decade — it forgives, it cools, and it lets coloured furniture and art read clearly above it. There is enough texture in the weave to keep the surface visually interesting without breaking the calm of the palette. We have laid this in rooms with bold artwork above and minimal furniture, and it sits comfortably in both.
How it's made
At a glance: Anatolian-woven. The Turkish weaving industry has refined power-loom production to a point where the result is genuinely close to the look of a traditionally woven rug. The fibre is synthetic, but the modern poly yarns we work with feel close to soft wool underfoot and clean up far more easily. This is a 18mm pile — soft, considered, with enough density to spring back from foot traffic without flattening. Edges are bound and finished cleanly so they sit flat and stay flat.
Which size?
Runners are about scale, not just length — leave at least 10cm of floor visible on each side of the runner so the hallway doesn't feel boxed in. Our Rug Size Guide has the proportions we recommend.

FAQs
How do I get rid of a stain?
Blot — never rub. Cool water and a small amount of mild detergent on a clean cloth handles most spills. Work from the outside of the stain in. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.
Will the colour look the same as the website photo?
Very close, but never identical — every screen renders colour slightly differently, and the rug itself will read warmer or cooler depending on the light in your room. If you want certainty, message us and we'll send additional photos taken in natural light.
Will the rug fade in direct sun?
Some fade is possible if a rug sits in direct, unfiltered sun day after day — that's true of any rug. The dyes used here are UV-stabilised and hold up well to the conditions in most Australian rooms.
Is the back of the rug latex-coated?
The backing is a standard textile finish — it sits flat on the floor and won't mark timber boards. For hard floors, we'd still recommend a rug pad to keep it from sliding.
Will the pattern repeat be obvious?
Not on this construction. The pattern is woven across the full face of the rug rather than printed, so you won't see the kind of seam-like repetition you sometimes get with a printed surface.
