Size

The Elle range is available in grey, honey and cream; colours that blend rather than clash with any setting. Marvelously hardwearing and aesthetically attractive, this rug synthesizes in perfect fusion with any decor. Fabulous for living rooms, bedrooms or entrance halls, this floor piece offers a treasure of possibilities for your home.

Elle Cream Grey is what we point people toward when they describe their room and the brief is, broadly, 'something honest'.

On colour

The colour story matters here. Grey rugs sit quietly in a room and let the rest of the space do the talking — it's why they outsell almost everything else we carry. Design-wise, the surface is restrained enough to layer with strong artwork or strong upholstery without competing. Photographs flatten the surface; in person, the weave reads with more dimension than any catalogue image can convey.

Built and finished

Woven in Turkey. The Turkish weaving industry has refined power-loom production to a point where the result is genuinely close to the look of a traditionally woven rug. We have lived with polypropylene rugs in our own homes for years. They survive children, vacuum cleaners, and the occasional small disaster without losing their shape. This is a 15mm pile — soft, considered, with enough density to spring back from foot traffic without flattening. Look at the underside and you can see how dense the weave actually is — it is the part of the rug that does the real work.

Which size?

A 200x290cm covers most three-seater living rooms; a 240x330cm suits the larger open-plan layouts that have become common in new Australian builds. Our Rug Size Guide shows you which fits.

Living with it

In a real Australian room, it is a comfortable fit in a renovated 1920s terrace in Paddington where the bones of the room are doing the heavy lifting — exactly the kind of space most of our customers are decorating. For everyday care, vacuum weekly and spot-clean spills as they happen — a damp cloth and a small amount of mild detergent handles almost anything. Pet hair vacuums out cleanly — the fibre does not hold dander the way a natural pile sometimes can. Build the room around it. It will hold the centre and stay quiet while the rest of the space changes around it.

Elle Cream Grey is for you if your brief is calm, considered, and easy to live with.

Things customers ask

Can I cut the rug to size?

We don't recommend cutting a finished rug — the edges are bound and the construction relies on that binding to stay intact. If you need a custom size, message us and we'll see what's possible.

Will the colour look the same as the website photo?

Very close, but never identical — every screen renders colour slightly differently, and the rug itself will read warmer or cooler depending on the light in your room. If you want certainty, message us and we'll send additional photos taken in natural light.

Will the pattern repeat be obvious?

Not on this construction. The pattern is woven across the full face of the rug rather than printed, so you won't see the kind of seam-like repetition you sometimes get with a printed surface.

How long does delivery take to my address?

Most metro orders arrive within 3–7 business days. Regional and remote addresses can take a little longer. We'll send tracking the moment your rug leaves the warehouse.

Is the colour the same on both sides?

No — the pile side is the finished face. The reverse shows the construction and is usually a slightly different colour because the dye penetrates the surface rather than the entire fibre.
