Sleek and stunning, the Mascot range of rugs, in cool, smokey shades of grey and white, will balance the decor in any room. Easy to clean, while opulent, these shaggy rugs are a perfect blend for today’s demanding lifestyle. Beautifully textured, with a volumetric pile, and crafted to feature a subtle sheen, Mascot rugs are an attractive option for living rooms and entrances. Artful neutral coloring and unobtrusive geometric styling, make this rug an intelligent choice for a contemporary, fast-living home.

Of all the Turkish pieces we have carried over the years, Cobi White is among the more enduring.

Living with it

Day to day, in any room with Spotted gum floors, this rug adds the visual weight the floor needs to feel finished. The synthetic fibre tolerates household cleaners better than wool, but in our experience nothing more aggressive than cool soapy water is ever necessary. Rolling vacuum, ride-on toys, the cat — none of it bothers the surface in any way you will notice.

Colour and pattern

Worth a moment on the look of it. True white is a brave choice in a family home, but in the right room — a master bedroom, a low-traffic formal living space — nothing else has quite the same lift. The motif is restrained enough to sit under almost any furniture without competing. The design is balanced enough to centre a coffee table and quiet enough to let a strong artwork dominate above it.

What's under the surface

In one line: From Turkey's long power-loom tradition. We've worked with Turkish mills for decades — the country's heritage in rugs runs deep, and the power-loom programmes are some of the most consistent in the world. We sell a lot of polypropylene because it does the one thing most Australian families ask of a rug: survive children, dogs, and the occasional glass of red without complaint. With a 60mm pile, this is deep-shag territory — it will feel like sand between your toes, in the best way. Edges are bound and finished cleanly so they sit flat and stay flat.

Picking the right size

If this is going under a dining table, measure the table and add at least 60cm on each side so the chairs stay on the rug when pulled out. The Rug Size Guide walks through the details.

Worth committing to if you want a rug you can live with for the long haul.

Things customers ask

How thick is the rug overall?

The total thickness includes the pile plus the backing — for most of our rugs, that ends up somewhere between 8mm and 30mm depending on the pile listed. If you need a precise figure for a door clearance, message us and we'll measure.

How do I get rid of a stain?

Blot — never rub. Cool water and a small amount of mild detergent on a clean cloth handles most spills. Work from the outside of the stain in. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.

Do you offer samples?

We don't typically send physical samples — most of our customers find the photos and our written notes get them close enough. If you want extra photos in natural light, message us and we'll send them through.

Can I cut the rug to size?

We don't recommend cutting a finished rug — the edges are bound and the construction relies on that binding to stay intact. If you need a custom size, message us and we'll see what's possible.

Will it sit flat once unrolled?

Almost always within 24–48 hours. If you see any waves from the rolled packaging, lay the rug pile-up in the room and let it relax overnight — gravity does the rest. For stubborn corners, rolling the rug briefly in the opposite direction usually does it.
