The reason Tango Latte has stayed in our catalogue for several seasons is straightforward: it sells consistently and comes back rarely.
On the design
Looked at honestly, the design is doing two things. Beige is the most forgiving floor colour we carry — it hides dust, dog hair, and the small disasters of daily life better than almost any other shade. Look at the surface in different light through the day and the rug picks up subtle variations the photo doesn't quite catch. Photographs flatten the surface; in person, the weave reads with more dimension than any catalogue image can convey.
About the make
At a glance: Made in Belgium on Wilton looms. Belgium's Wilton looms are some of the most exacting in the world — the colour separation and pattern definition you get from them is hard to match elsewhere. What polypropylene gives up in heritage feel it more than makes back in colourfastness and easy upkeep. At 19mm of pile, this is a true sink-your-feet-in shaggy. Construction-wise, this is built to look the same six months in as the day it arrived.
Sizing
If this is going under a dining table, measure the table and add at least 60cm on each side so the chairs stay on the rug when pulled out. The Rug Size Guide walks through the details.
Living with it
In a real Australian room, it earns its keep in any room that has Spotted gum floors as a starting point. For wine, blood, or any pigmented spill, blot quickly with cold water and a mild detergent — the colour will lift before it has time to bond. It handles a Labrador, a Cavoodle, or two of each. We have heard variations on that brief many times. It holds its shape under a heavy sofa and shrugs off the small dents that lighter constructions can't recover from.
We sell a lot of Tango Latte, and the reason is straightforward — it does the work without making a fuss.
Common questions
Can I put a rug pad underneath?
Yes, and we'd recommend it on hard floors. A pad keeps the rug from slipping, adds a little extra softness underfoot, and helps the pile wear evenly over time.
Will this rug shed?
No, not in the meaningful sense. Synthetic pile is heat-set rather than spun from short staple fibres, so you may see a small amount of fibre in the first week and very little after that.
Will the pattern repeat be obvious?
Not on this construction. The pattern is woven across the full face of the rug rather than printed, so you won't see the kind of seam-like repetition you sometimes get with a printed surface.
How do I get rid of a stain?
Blot — never rub. Cool water and a small amount of mild detergent on a clean cloth handles most spills. Work from the outside of the stain in. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.
Can I steam clean this rug?
Light steam is fine for synthetic pile. Avoid prolonged direct heat in one spot, and let the rug dry completely before walking on it.
