Size

Variegated textures in our Decora collection lend instant rustic appeal to interior or even exterior living areas. These non-shedding, Polypropylene rugs are as easy on the eye as they are to clean. Durable enough for high traffic areas, their 9mm pile also makes them beautiful enough for showcased areas in your home. Made to exacting standards, in Belgium, Decora rugs display a contemporary vibe with their natural cream and grey shading making them the ideal floor covering to compliment and accentuate your lifestyle.

The colour story on Decora Barista is what brought it into our range first.

What's under the surface

Underneath the look, Belgian-made with European precision. Belgian weaving has a reputation for precision, and you can see it in the way the pattern sits on the surface of this rug. We sell a lot of polypropylene because it does the one thing most Australian families ask of a rug: survive children, dogs, and the occasional glass of red without complaint. A 9mm pile feels soft on bare feet but doesn't trap dust the way a longer pile can. The back of the rug shows the construction clearly — close, even stitching, no slack spots, no thin patches.

Colour and pattern

Looked at honestly, the design is doing two things. Silver rugs sit between grey and ivory and tend to read either way depending on the light through the day. The design holds its proportions at every size we run — the medium and large sizes do not look like enlarged versions of the smaller piece. The design is balanced enough to centre a coffee table and quiet enough to let a strong artwork dominate above it.

Living with it

Day to day, this style sits well over pale oak floorboards, particularly when the rest of the room runs to double-height living spaces with a lot of glazing. Synthetic pile means you can keep on top of it without specialist care — a regular vacuum and the occasional damp wipe is the entire maintenance routine. Pet-friendly in the most useful sense: claws won't catch the way they do on a looped pile, and the surface vacuums cleanly. It holds its shape under a heavy sofa and shrugs off the small dents that lighter constructions can't recover from.

Which size?

A 200x290cm covers most three-seater living rooms; a 240x330cm suits the larger open-plan layouts that have become common in new Australian builds. Our Rug Size Guide shows you which fits.

We'd recommend Decora Barista as a starting point for any room that needs a calm, well-made base.

FAQs

Will it sit flat once unrolled?

Almost always within 24–48 hours. If you see any waves from the rolled packaging, lay the rug pile-up in the room and let it relax overnight — gravity does the rest. For stubborn corners, rolling the rug briefly in the opposite direction usually does it.

How long does delivery take to my address?

Most metro orders arrive within 3–7 business days. Regional and remote addresses can take a little longer. We'll send tracking the moment your rug leaves the warehouse.

Does this rug ship rolled or folded?

Rolled. We ship every rug in our range rolled and wrapped — folding can leave a crease in the pile that takes a few weeks to settle out, so we avoid it.

Is the colour the same on both sides?

No — the pile side is the finished face. The reverse shows the construction and is usually a slightly different colour because the dye penetrates the surface rather than the entire fibre.

Will this rug shed?

No, not in the meaningful sense. Synthetic pile is heat-set rather than spun from short staple fibres, so you may see a small amount of fibre in the first week and very little after that.
