These stunning new range of animal theme rugs come in the cutest trends of design. Give your kids room some flare with these fantastic feature qualities, with a soft plush pile.
Some rugs need to be sold; Mr&Mrs Panda sells itself once you see it in person.
Day-to-day
Day to day, built to take the hammering of a school-age bedroom. It will not stain the way a wool or cotton rug can — wine, juice, and pet accidents lift with a damp cloth if you get to them within a reasonable window. Rotate the rug end-to-end every few months so foot traffic wears evenly across the surface.
On colour
The colour story matters here. There's a reason grey has been the default neutral of the last decade — it forgives, it cools, and it lets coloured furniture and art read clearly above it. The pattern is broken just enough at the surface to keep the visual rhythm interesting without ever feeling busy. Stand in the doorway and the rug barely registers; sit on the floor and the texture and pile depth come forward.
Construction
Made in Belgium on Wilton looms. Belgian mills are the benchmark for machine-made design definition. The look is crisper than what you'd get from most other origins. We sell a lot of polypropylene because it does the one thing most Australian families ask of a rug: survive children, dogs, and the occasional glass of red without complaint. The yarn count is dense enough that the pattern reads sharply without losing softness underfoot.
On sizing
Have a tape measure handy before you commit — our Rug Size Guide has the layouts most of our customers end up choosing.
This is a rug we recommend without hedging. It does what it should.
Things customers ask
Will the pattern repeat be obvious?
Not on this construction. The pattern is woven across the full face of the rug rather than printed, so you won't see the kind of seam-like repetition you sometimes get with a printed surface.
How thick is the rug overall?
The total thickness includes the pile plus the backing — for most of our rugs, that ends up somewhere between 8mm and 30mm depending on the pile listed. If you need a precise figure for a door clearance, message us and we'll measure.
Does it work with a robot vacuum?
Yes for low and medium piles. For the deeper shaggies in our range, a robot vacuum will struggle a bit — you'll get better results with a regular upright on a higher setting.
Is the colour the same on both sides?
No — the pile side is the finished face. The reverse shows the construction and is usually a slightly different colour because the dye penetrates the surface rather than the entire fibre.
Does the rug have a strong smell when it arrives?
There may be a faint factory or packaging smell on opening — it airs out within a day or two. Lay the rug out, open the windows, and it will settle quickly.
