Radiant and uplifting, the Paradise Sunset Rug captures the warmth of the tropics in a bold palette of coral, teal, gold, and soft blue. Layered with lush palm and monstera leaves, it brings a vibrant sense of energy and escape to any space. Made in Egypt from durable, fully washable polypropylene, this flatwoven design is ideal for both indoor and outdoor use, perfect for patios, dining areas, and living spaces in need of a cheerful burst of colour and tropical charm.

Among the neutral rugs we currently carry, Paradise Sunset Tropical Coral Outdoor is one of the most-bought.

What's under the surface

Flatwoven in Egypt. Egypt has become the place to produce outdoor-grade flatweaves at scale, and the durability of the construction is genuinely impressive. Heat-set polypropylene yarns hold their twist for years — that is what stops the pile flattening under a coffee table or sofa leg. A 6mm pile keeps this piece flat enough for a dining room or hallway where dragged chairs would chew up a deeper weave. Run your hand across the surface and the pile feels even from corner to corner — that consistency is what separates a well-made rug from a budget one.

How it looks

Worth a moment on the look of it. The palette here is restrained, which is exactly what most of our customers tell us they're looking for. Up close you can see how the dye sits in the fibre — saturated, even, with none of the patchiness of a cheaper construction. Stand in the doorway and the rug barely registers; sit on the floor and the texture and pile depth come forward.

Day-to-day

The construction is UV-stable and the fibre does not absorb water — hose it down, let it dry in the sun, and it is back in service. Synthetic pile means you can keep on top of it without specialist care — a regular vacuum and the occasional damp wipe is the entire maintenance routine. We sell more of this style to families with school-age children than to any other group, which says something about how it lives.

Which size?

A 200x290cm covers most three-seater living rooms; a 240x330cm suits the larger open-plan layouts that have become common in new Australian builds. Our Rug Size Guide shows you which fits.

We have laid Paradise Sunset Tropical Coral Outdoor in dozens of styled rooms over the years. It earns its place every time.

Common questions

Can I steam clean this rug?

Yes, but a hose is usually faster and just as effective.

Is the colour the same on both sides?

No — the pile side is the finished face. The reverse shows the construction and is usually a slightly different colour because the dye penetrates the surface rather than the entire fibre.

Will the rug fade in direct sun?

The dye on this construction is specifically UV-stabilised for outdoor use — it holds up to direct Australian sun in a way that an indoor rug never could.

Do you offer samples?

We don't typically send physical samples — most of our customers find the photos and our written notes get them close enough. If you want extra photos in natural light, message us and we'll send them through.

Will it sit flat once unrolled?

Almost always within 24–48 hours. If you see any waves from the rolled packaging, lay the rug pile-up in the room and let it relax overnight — gravity does the rest. For stubborn corners, rolling the rug briefly in the opposite direction usually does it.
