A statement of style, this collection features bold, contemporary designs. Machine woven to the highest quality in Turkey, these rugs feature a easy care polypropylene fiber to complement your home.
Novas Light Grey Dark Grey is one of the rugs we recommend to customers who have already bought a wool piece elsewhere and want something more practical for a high-traffic room.
How it looks
What is happening at the surface is straightforward. There's a reason grey has been the default neutral of the last decade — it forgives, it cools, and it lets coloured furniture and art read clearly above it. Up close, the construction details emerge; from across the room, the rug reads as a single restrained colour field. The longer you sit in a room with this rug, the less you notice it — which is exactly what a good rug is meant to do.
What's under the surface
In one line: Anatolian-woven. Turkey remains the place where heritage design and modern weaving meet most comfortably — you get the look of a hand-knotted rug at a fraction of the cost. Polypropylene fibre handles wine, juice, and muddy paws with a damp cloth and a bit of patience — which is why we recommend it to most growing families. The pile height is 15mm — substantial enough to feel luxurious without crossing into shaggy territory. Selvedges are finished cleanly so the rug sits flush against itself without curling at the edges.
How it handles real life
Day to day, we see this style most often in coastal rooms with linen sofas, rattan accents, and a lot of natural light. For wine, blood, or any pigmented spill, blot quickly with cold water and a mild detergent — the colour will lift before it has time to bond. Pet-friendly in the most useful sense: claws won't catch the way they do on a looped pile, and the surface vacuums cleanly. A good shake outdoors once a season and a regular vacuum is the whole maintenance story.
Sizing
We carry this in a few sizes — a 160x230cm sits well under a coffee table, a 200x290cm anchors a standard three-piece lounge, and the 240x330cm extends well past a queen bed. See our Rug Size Guide for the full layout breakdown.
Worth the cost of admission for any room that needs a quiet, well-made centre point.
Questions we get asked
Will the colour look the same as the website photo?
Very close, but never identical — every screen renders colour slightly differently, and the rug itself will read warmer or cooler depending on the light in your room. If you want certainty, message us and we'll send additional photos taken in natural light.
Can I cut the rug to size?
We don't recommend cutting a finished rug — the edges are bound and the construction relies on that binding to stay intact. If you need a custom size, message us and we'll see what's possible.
Is the colour the same on both sides?
No — the pile side is the finished face. The reverse shows the construction and is usually a slightly different colour because the dye penetrates the surface rather than the entire fibre.
Does this rug ship rolled or folded?
Rolled. We ship every rug in our range rolled and wrapped — folding can leave a crease in the pile that takes a few weeks to settle out, so we avoid it.
Will it sit flat once unrolled?
Almost always within 24–48 hours. If you see any waves from the rolled packaging, lay the rug pile-up in the room and let it relax overnight — gravity does the rest. For stubborn corners, rolling the rug briefly in the opposite direction usually does it.
