Day-to-day
It pairs especially well with Spotted gum floors and high white walls with skirting in cream. Synthetic pile means you can keep on top of it without specialist care — a regular vacuum and the occasional damp wipe is the entire maintenance routine. Rug pad underneath on a hard floor — that is the one accessory we would not skip.
On the design
What is happening at the surface is straightforward. There's a reason grey has been the default neutral of the last decade — it forgives, it cools, and it lets coloured furniture and art read clearly above it. The design holds its proportions at every size we run — the medium and large sizes do not look like enlarged versions of the smaller piece. Stand in the doorway and the rug barely registers; sit on the floor and the texture and pile depth come forward.
What's under the surface
Underneath the look, produced in Belgium. Belgian weaving has a reputation for precision, and you can see it in the way the pattern sits on the surface of this rug. Synthetic fibre means hypoallergenic in the most useful sense — no lanolin, no animal dander, no shedding to speak of. The 15mm pile gives this rug genuine softness underfoot — particularly good for a bedroom or a sitting room you actually want to sit on the floor in. Selvedges are finished cleanly so the rug sits flush against itself without curling at the edges.
Sizing
If this is going under a dining table, measure the table and add at least 60cm on each side so the chairs stay on the rug when pulled out. The Rug Size Guide walks through the details.
This is the kind of rug that makes the rest of your decisions easier.
Common questions
Does this rug ship rolled or folded?
Rolled. We ship every rug in our range rolled and wrapped — folding can leave a crease in the pile that takes a few weeks to settle out, so we avoid it.
Do you offer samples?
We don't typically send physical samples — most of our customers find the photos and our written notes get them close enough. If you want extra photos in natural light, message us and we'll send them through.
How do I get rid of a stain?
Blot — never rub. Cool water and a small amount of mild detergent on a clean cloth handles most spills. Work from the outside of the stain in. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.
Does it work with a robot vacuum?
Yes for low and medium piles. For the deeper shaggies in our range, a robot vacuum will struggle a bit — you'll get better results with a regular upright on a higher setting.
Can I put a rug pad underneath?
Yes, and we'd recommend it on hard floors. A pad keeps the rug from slipping, adds a little extra softness underfoot, and helps the pile wear evenly over time.
