The Decora range abounds with beautiful, delicate, floral designs that celebrate the clever combination of well-coordinated colour with exciting texture. These rugs, with their vibrancy, are certain to light up even the dullest of spaces. Detailed enough to set off the simplest of furnishings, these rugs are nevertheless subtle enough to blend well in most living areas. Experience the pleasure of traditional design with modern-day resilience, a floor-piece that is eye-catching, but practical in every sense.
We do not over-stock; Decora Green stays in the range because customers keep coming back for the larger sizes.
How it looks
Worth a moment on the look of it. There's a reason grey has been the default neutral of the last decade — it forgives, it cools, and it lets coloured furniture and art read clearly above it. The pattern carries the lineage of traditional design without committing to the full formal palette of an antique piece. Visually, this is the kind of rug that does not introduce a new design statement — it ties the existing ones together.
What's under the surface
Woven in Belgium. Belgian mills are the benchmark for machine-made design definition. The look is crisper than what you'd get from most other origins. What polypropylene gives up in heritage feel it more than makes back in colourfastness and easy upkeep. The 15mm pile gives this rug genuine softness underfoot — particularly good for a bedroom or a sitting room you actually want to sit on the floor in. Selvedges are finished cleanly so the rug sits flush against itself without curling at the edges.
Day-to-day
In a typical Australian living room — limestone tiles, double-height living spaces with a lot of glazing — it sits comfortably without competing for attention. For everyday care, vacuum weekly and spot-clean spills as they happen — a damp cloth and a small amount of mild detergent handles almost anything. Rug pad underneath on a hard floor — that is the one accessory we would not skip.
On sizing
Have a tape measure handy before you commit — our Rug Size Guide has the layouts most of our customers end up choosing.
If the room has earned a rug like Decora Green, the rest of the decisions tend to follow.
Questions we get asked
Does it work with a robot vacuum?
Yes for low and medium piles. For the deeper shaggies in our range, a robot vacuum will struggle a bit — you'll get better results with a regular upright on a higher setting.
How do I get rid of a stain?
Blot — never rub. Cool water and a small amount of mild detergent on a clean cloth handles most spills. Work from the outside of the stain in. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.
Can I put a rug pad underneath?
Yes, and we'd recommend it on hard floors. A pad keeps the rug from slipping, adds a little extra softness underfoot, and helps the pile wear evenly over time.
Can I cut the rug to size?
We don't recommend cutting a finished rug — the edges are bound and the construction relies on that binding to stay intact. If you need a custom size, message us and we'll see what's possible.
Is the back of the rug latex-coated?
The backing is a standard textile finish — it sits flat on the floor and won't mark timber boards. For hard floors, we'd still recommend a rug pad to keep it from sliding.
