The Michael Angelo range abounds with beautiful, delicate, floral designs that celebrate the clever combination of well-coordinated colour with exciting texture. These rugs, with their vibrancy, are certain to light up even the dullest of spaces. Detailed enough to set off the simplest of furnishings, these rugs are nevertheless subtle enough to blend well in most living areas. Experience the pleasure of traditional design with modern-day resilience, a floor-piece that is eye-catching, but practical in every sense.

Pick Decora Beige Runner up at the showroom and the weight in your hand is the first signal of how it is constructed.

About the look

Beige is the most forgiving floor colour we carry — it hides dust, dog hair, and the small disasters of daily life better than almost any other shade. The traditional motifs are kept restrained — there is no overworked busyness, just a faded, lived-in quality that works in modern Australian rooms. From the kitchen looking through to the lounge, the rug reads as a single grounding plane rather than a competing pattern.

How it handles real life

In a real Australian room, in any room with limestone tiles, this rug adds the visual weight the floor needs to feel finished. A handheld vacuum and a damp cloth handle ninety percent of what you will need to do to keep this rug looking right. We have customers who have lived with the same rug for the better part of a decade. It still looks intentional.

How it's made

Belgian Wilton-woven. Belgian weaving has a reputation for precision, and you can see it in the way the pattern sits on the surface of this rug. Polypropylene fibre handles wine, juice, and muddy paws with a damp cloth and a bit of patience — which is why we recommend it to most growing families. At 15mm, the pile is on the plusher side of our range — it has the kind of give that makes a bedroom rug worth waking up to. Construction-wise, this is built to look the same six months in as the day it arrived.

Which size?

Runners are about scale, not just length — leave at least 10cm of floor visible on each side of the runner so the hallway doesn't feel boxed in. Our Rug Size Guide has the proportions we recommend.

If your existing furniture has earned its place, Decora Beige Runner will sit comfortably underneath it.

FAQs

Is the back of the rug latex-coated?

The backing is a standard textile finish — it sits flat on the floor and won't mark timber boards. For hard floors, we'd still recommend a rug pad to keep it from sliding.

Is the colour the same on both sides?

No — the pile side is the finished face. The reverse shows the construction and is usually a slightly different colour because the dye penetrates the surface rather than the entire fibre.

Can I cut the rug to size?

We don't recommend cutting a finished rug — the edges are bound and the construction relies on that binding to stay intact. If you need a custom size, message us and we'll see what's possible.

Does the rug have a strong smell when it arrives?

There may be a faint factory or packaging smell on opening — it airs out within a day or two. Lay the rug out, open the windows, and it will settle quickly.

Can I steam clean this rug?

Light steam is fine for synthetic pile. Avoid prolonged direct heat in one spot, and let the rug dry completely before walking on it.
