The pattern is woven across the full face of the rug rather than printed, so it has real depth in the surface. Across a 200x290cm or 240x330cm, that calm reads as confidence rather than absence.
What's under the surface
Engineered and woven in Egypt. Egypt has become the place to produce outdoor-grade flatweaves at scale, and the durability of the construction is genuinely impressive. The fibre is synthetic, but the modern poly yarns we work with feel close to soft wool underfoot and clean up far more easily. The result is a rug that feels considered without crossing into precious territory.

Day-to-day
It is a comfortable fit in a Northern Beaches family home where the brief is 'beach-house casual, but considered' — exactly the kind of space most of our customers are decorating. If a spill dries before you get to it, dampen the area with cool water, work the cloth from the outside in, and the dried residue lifts back out. Can I return it if it isn't right?

Can I use this with underfloor heating?
Yes — the pile is not so dense that it traps heat, and the backing handles the moderate temperatures typical of residential underfloor systems.
Is the back of the rug latex-coated?
The backing is a standard textile finish — it sits flat on the floor and won't mark timber boards. For hard floors, we'd still recommend a rug pad to keep it from sliding.
Will the rug fade in direct sun?
Some fade is possible if a rug sits in direct, unfiltered sun day after day — that's true of any rug. The dyes used here are UV-stabilised and hold up well to the conditions in most Australian rooms.
Will this rug shed?
No, not in the meaningful sense. Synthetic pile is heat-set rather than spun from short staple fibres, so you may see a small amount of fibre in the first week and very little after that.
