The Coco Arch Cocoa modern rug takes a bold architectural arch repeat and grounds it in a warm, earthy cocoa palette — the result is a living room or bedroom rug that has genuine presence without demanding attention. The high-low pile gives the arch design real physical texture, and the Belgian polypropylene construction ensures it handles real life without fading or wearing unevenly.
We don't keep every rug we get offered, and Coco Arch Cocoa Modern earns its place for a particular reason.
Colour and pattern
The colour story matters here. Beige has come a long way from the 1990s — modern beige rugs carry a warm, taupe-leaning tone that reads sophisticated rather than dated. The design holds its proportions at every size we run — the medium and large sizes do not look like enlarged versions of the smaller piece. The design is balanced enough to centre a coffee table and quiet enough to let a strong artwork dominate above it.
Practical notes
Day to day, in a typical Australian living room — polished concrete floors, warm white interiors — it sits comfortably without competing for attention. Wipe spills with a damp cloth, vacuum on a regular setting, and rotate the rug end-to-end once a year. Nothing else is required. Once you have it down, the rug is one of the lowest-maintenance pieces of furniture you will ever buy.
Built and finished
The short version: Woven in Belgium. The Wilton tradition in Belgium produces rugs with extremely fine pattern detail — the kind of edge clarity that holds up under close inspection. Modern polypropylene is a long way from the scratchy synthetic of twenty years ago. Soft underfoot, dense in the weave, and entirely washable. Build quality holds up to close inspection — there are no shortcuts in the weave or the finish.
On sizing
We carry this in a few sizes — a 160x230cm sits well under a coffee table, a 200x290cm anchors a standard three-piece lounge, and the 240x330cm extends well past a queen bed. See our Rug Size Guide for the full layout breakdown.
If you've been waiting for the rug that just feels right, this is one we'd line up first.
Common questions
Does it work with a robot vacuum?
Yes for low and medium piles. For the deeper shaggies in our range, a robot vacuum will struggle a bit — you'll get better results with a regular upright on a higher setting.
Can I steam clean this rug?
Light steam is fine for synthetic pile. Avoid prolonged direct heat in one spot, and let the rug dry completely before walking on it.
Will the rug fade in direct sun?
Some fade is possible if a rug sits in direct, unfiltered sun day after day — that's true of any rug. The dyes used here are UV-stabilised and hold up well to the conditions in most Australian rooms.
Does this rug ship rolled or folded?
Rolled. We ship every rug in our range rolled and wrapped — folding can leave a crease in the pile that takes a few weeks to settle out, so we avoid it.
Will the pattern repeat be obvious?
Not on this construction. The pattern is woven across the full face of the rug rather than printed, so you won't see the kind of seam-like repetition you sometimes get with a printed surface.
