The Vienna range, machine-made in Turkey, showcases contemporary designs with versatile, non-distinctive patterns and neutral tones, effortlessly compatible with various living spaces. Its 8-millimeter polypropylene pile ensures easy cleaning, making it perfect for high-traffic areas.
There is a particular kind of buyer who lands on Vienna Dark Grey Grey and stays there: someone who has looked at fifty rugs and wants to stop.
Living with it
In any room with dark hardwood floors, this rug adds the visual weight the floor needs to feel finished. For everyday care, vacuum weekly and spot-clean spills as they happen — a damp cloth and a small amount of mild detergent handles almost anything. Drag a chair, drop a fork, knock over the wine — this construction tolerates all three.
On the design
The colour story matters here. There's a reason grey has been the default neutral of the last decade — it forgives, it cools, and it lets coloured furniture and art read clearly above it. There is enough texture in the weave to keep the surface visually interesting without breaking the calm of the palette. Stand in the doorway and the rug barely registers; sit on the floor and the texture and pile depth come forward.
How it's made
Underneath the look, made in Turkey on power looms. Turkey remains the place where heritage design and modern weaving meet most comfortably — you get the look of a hand-knotted rug at a fraction of the cost. If a rug is going to sit in a room where life actually happens, polypropylene is the fibre we trust to handle it. At 21mm of pile, this is a true sink-your-feet-in shaggy. Build quality holds up to close inspection — there are no shortcuts in the weave or the finish.
Picking the right size
Most of our customers go a size larger than their first instinct. Our Rug Size Guide explains why.
If you want the room to look finished from the day the rug arrives, Vienna Dark Grey Grey delivers on that.
Things customers ask
Will the colour look the same as the website photo?
Very close, but never identical — every screen renders colour slightly differently, and the rug itself will read warmer or cooler depending on the light in your room. If you want certainty, message us and we'll send additional photos taken in natural light.
How thick is the rug overall?
The total thickness includes the pile plus the backing — for most of our rugs, that ends up somewhere between 8mm and 30mm depending on the pile listed. If you need a precise figure for a door clearance, message us and we'll measure.
Can I use this with underfloor heating?
Yes — the pile is not so dense that it traps heat, and the backing handles the moderate temperatures typical of residential underfloor systems.
How long does delivery take to my address?
Most metro orders arrive within 3–7 business days. Regional and remote addresses can take a little longer. We'll send tracking the moment your rug leaves the warehouse.
Is the back of the rug latex-coated?
The backing is a standard textile finish — it sits flat on the floor and won't mark timber boards. For hard floors, we'd still recommend a rug pad to keep it from sliding.
