Textured relief and compact weaving, give our Imperial collection, both a sense and look of opulence. Differentially constructed to form flat and raised pile areas, these rugs project a tactile character all of their own. Subtle patterns, with lustrous sheen—in both abstract and vintage designs—make these rugs a suitable pairing for most spaces, be they modern or traditional. Woven from a combination of 55% Polyester and 45% Polypropylene, with raised sections at an 11mm pile height, these timeless pieces, which capture and radiate light, will be the talking point of your decor.

If we made a short list of the safest rugs to commit to without second-guessing, Imperial Grey Spire would be on it.

Colour and pattern

Looked at honestly, the design is doing two things. A grey-toned rug is the easiest way to anchor a room without committing to a strong palette. Up close you can see how the dye sits in the fibre — saturated, even, with none of the patchiness of a cheaper construction. The design is balanced enough to centre a coffee table and quiet enough to let a strong artwork dominate above it.

Construction

At a glance: Belgian-made with European precision. The Wilton tradition in Belgium produces rugs with extremely fine pattern detail — the kind of edge clarity that holds up under close inspection. Polypropylene is a thermoplastic, which means stains do not bond to the fibre the way they would with a natural staple. A 11mm pile feels soft on bare feet but doesn't trap dust the way a longer pile can. The back of the rug shows the construction clearly — close, even stitching, no slack spots, no thin patches.

Practical notes

It pairs especially well with Tasmanian oak floorboards and double-height living spaces with a lot of glazing. It will not stain the way a wool or cotton rug can — wine, juice, and pet accidents lift with a damp cloth if you get to them within a reasonable window. Pet-friendly in the most useful sense: claws won't catch the way they do on a looped pile, and the surface vacuums cleanly. We have customers who have lived with the same rug for the better part of a decade. It still looks intentional.

Picking the right size

Have a tape measure handy before you commit — our Rug Size Guide has the layouts most of our customers end up choosing.

Questions we get asked

Will it sit flat once unrolled?

Almost always within 24–48 hours. If you see any waves from the rolled packaging, lay the rug pile-up in the room and let it relax overnight — gravity does the rest. For stubborn corners, rolling the rug briefly in the opposite direction usually does it.

How long does delivery take to my address?

Most metro orders arrive within 3–7 business days. Regional and remote addresses can take a little longer. We'll send tracking the moment your rug leaves the warehouse.

Do you offer samples?

We don't typically send physical samples — most of our customers find the photos and our written notes get them close enough. If you want extra photos in natural light, message us and we'll send them through.

Can I use this with underfloor heating?

Yes — the pile is not so dense that it traps heat, and the backing handles the moderate temperatures typical of residential underfloor systems.

How thick is the rug overall?

The total thickness includes the pile plus the backing — for most of our rugs, that ends up somewhere between 8mm and 30mm depending on the pile listed. If you need a precise figure for a door clearance, message us and we'll measure.
