The Vermont collection offers elegant, long-lasting flatweave rugs crafted from premium polypropylene yarns in timeless natural hues. These rugs feature a sleek, natural sisal-like look and can be used both indoors and outdoors to protect floors and enhance ambiance. Their UV stabilization and low-maintenance design, simply hose off and air dry, make them a convenient choice for any setting.

Vermont Soft Blue is what we point people toward when they describe their room and the brief is, broadly, 'something honest'.

Colour and pattern

Looked at honestly, the design is doing two things. A grey-toned rug is the easiest way to anchor a room without committing to a strong palette. Tonally, the rug shifts subtly through the day — warmer in morning light, more grounded in the cooler hours of the afternoon. It plays nicely with a low timber coffee table, a linen sofa, and the kind of considered clutter most lived-in rooms accumulate.

What's under the surface

The short version: Made in Belgium on Wilton looms. Belgium's Wilton looms are some of the most exacting in the world — the colour separation and pattern definition you get from them is hard to match elsewhere. Synthetic fibre means hypoallergenic in the most useful sense — no lanolin, no animal dander, no shedding to speak of. A 7mm pile feels soft on bare feet but doesn't trap dust the way a longer pile can. The result is a rug that feels considered without crossing into precious territory.

How it handles real life

Day to day, built for indoor-outdoor use — the flat construction handles weather, the dye is UV-stabilised, and a hose-down sees off most of what an Australian summer can throw at it. Synthetic pile means you can keep on top of it without specialist care — a regular vacuum and the occasional damp wipe is the entire maintenance routine. Rolling vacuum, ride-on toys, the cat — none of it bothers the surface in any way you will notice.

Which size?

If you are between sizes, we almost always recommend sizing up. Our Rug Size Guide has the room-by-room measurements we use ourselves.

Things customers ask

Does it work with a robot vacuum?

Yes for low and medium piles. For the deeper shaggies in our range, a robot vacuum will struggle a bit — you'll get better results with a regular upright on a higher setting.

Will it sit flat once unrolled?

Almost always within 24–48 hours. If you see any waves from the rolled packaging, lay the rug pile-up in the room and let it relax overnight — gravity does the rest. For stubborn corners, rolling the rug briefly in the opposite direction usually does it.

Can I return it if it isn't right?

Yes — we offer a clear returns window because we know a rug needs to be seen in the actual room. The details are on our returns page, and we'll talk you through it if anything is unclear.

Will the rug fade in direct sun?

The dye on this construction is specifically UV-stabilised for outdoor use — it holds up to direct Australian sun in a way that an indoor rug never could.

How thick is the rug overall?

The total thickness includes the pile plus the backing — for most of our rugs, that ends up somewhere between 8mm and 30mm depending on the pile listed. If you need a precise figure for a door clearance, message us and we'll measure.
