The Vermont collection offers elegant, long-lasting flatweave rugs crafted from premium polypropylene yarns in timeless natural hues. These rugs feature a sleek, natural sisal-like look and can be used both indoors and outdoors to protect floors and enhance ambiance. Their UV stabilization and low-maintenance design, simply hose off and air dry, make them a convenient choice for any setting.

If you are after a rug that does not announce itself, Vermont Grey Multi is a sensible place to start.

How it handles real life

Designed for patios, decks, and verandas. Leave it out year-round in most parts of Australia and it will hold its colour through the worst of the sun. Vacuum, blot, and live with it. That is genuinely the entire maintenance instruction for a rug like this. Rolling vacuum, ride-on toys, the cat — none of it bothers the surface in any way you will notice.

On colour

A grey-toned rug is the easiest way to anchor a room without committing to a strong palette. There is enough variation in the weave to keep the rug from reading flat — it has depth without busyness. Visually, this is the kind of rug that does not introduce a new design statement — it ties the existing ones together.

Built and finished

The short version: Belgian-made with European precision. Belgian weaving has a reputation for precision, and you can see it in the way the pattern sits on the surface of this rug. Polypropylene is the fibre we end up recommending in roughly four out of five conversations with new customers. It is honest, hard-wearing, and forgiving. The 7mm pile sits in the sweet spot for everyday living — soft enough to feel good underfoot, short enough that the vacuum gets right to the base. Pile twist and density together are what give this piece the longevity that the warranty implies.

On sizing

Sizes range across our usual run — if you're unsure which to pick, our Rug Size Guide walks through the common Australian room layouts.

If you've been waiting for the rug that just feels right, this is one we'd line up first.

Questions we get asked

Will this rug shed?

No, not in the meaningful sense. Synthetic pile is heat-set rather than spun from short staple fibres, so you may see a small amount of fibre in the first week and very little after that.

Will the rug fade in direct sun?

The dye on this construction is specifically UV-stabilised for outdoor use — it holds up to direct Australian sun in a way that an indoor rug never could.

Can I cut the rug to size?

We don't recommend cutting a finished rug — the edges are bound and the construction relies on that binding to stay intact. If you need a custom size, message us and we'll see what's possible.

Can I steam clean this rug?

Yes, but a hose is usually faster and just as effective.

Can I return it if it isn't right?

Yes — we offer a clear returns window because we know a rug needs to be seen in the actual room. The details are on our returns page, and we'll talk you through it if anything is unclear.
