The Vermont collection offers elegant, long-lasting flatweave rugs crafted from premium polypropylene yarns in timeless natural hues. These rugs feature a sleek, natural sisal-like look and can be used both indoors and outdoors to protect floors and enhance ambiance. Their UV stabilization and low-maintenance design, simply hose off and air dry, make them a convenient choice for any setting.

We carry Vermont Grey because the brief on it has not changed in five years: a calm, well-made rug that handles real life.

What's under the surface

In one line: Made in Belgium on Wilton looms. Belgian weaving has a reputation for precision, and you can see it in the way the pattern sits on the surface of this rug. What polypropylene gives up in heritage feel it more than makes back in colourfastness and easy upkeep. At 7mm, this is a sensible everyday pile — substantial without being shaggy, easy to keep clean. Selvedges are finished cleanly so the rug sits flush against itself without curling at the edges.

On the design

Worth a moment on the look of it. A grey-toned rug is the easiest way to anchor a room without committing to a strong palette. The design holds its proportions at every size we run — the medium and large sizes do not look like enlarged versions of the smaller piece. The longer you sit in a room with this rug, the less you notice it — which is exactly what a good rug is meant to do.

How it handles real life

Designed for patios, decks, and verandas. Leave it out year-round in most parts of Australia and it will hold its colour through the worst of the sun. Vacuum on a medium setting weekly, and once a month go over the rug end-to-end with the suction set higher to lift trapped dust from the base. Once you have it down, the rug is one of the lowest-maintenance pieces of furniture you will ever buy.

On sizing

If this is going under a dining table, measure the table and add at least 60cm on each side so the chairs stay on the rug when pulled out. The Rug Size Guide walks through the details.

Reliable, calm, hard-wearing — three words that describe Vermont Grey fairly.

Common questions

How long does delivery take to my address?

Most metro orders arrive within 3–7 business days. Regional and remote addresses can take a little longer. We'll send tracking the moment your rug leaves the warehouse.

Will this rug shed?

No, not in the meaningful sense. Synthetic pile is heat-set rather than spun from short staple fibres, so you may see a small amount of fibre in the first week and very little after that.

Can I use this with underfloor heating?

Yes — the pile is not so dense that it traps heat, and the backing handles the moderate temperatures typical of residential underfloor systems.

Can I put a rug pad underneath?

Yes, and we'd recommend it on hard floors. A pad keeps the rug from slipping, adds a little extra softness underfoot, and helps the pile wear evenly over time.

Does it work with a robot vacuum?

Yes for low and medium piles. For the deeper shaggies in our range, a robot vacuum will struggle a bit — you'll get better results with a regular upright on a higher setting.
