Up close, the construction details emerge; from across the room, the rug reads as a single restrained colour field. Visually, this is the kind of rug that does not introduce a new design statement — it ties the existing ones together.
Living with it
The construction is UV-stable and the fibre does not absorb water — hose it down, let it dry in the sun, and it is back in service. The synthetic fibre tolerates household cleaners better than wool, but in our experience nothing more aggressive than cool soapy water is ever necessary. Once you have it down, the rug is one of the lowest-maintenance pieces of furniture you will ever buy.
About the make
The short version: Produced for genuine everyday wear. What matters with this piece is the construction — it's made to take real family use without fuss. Polypropylene is a thermoplastic, which means stains do not bond to the fibre the way they would with a natural staple. The pile sits at 6mm, which is firmly in flatweave territory — dense, hard-wearing, and friendly to a vacuum. Edges are bound and finished cleanly so they sit flat and stay flat.

Things customers ask
Will this rug shed?
No, not in the meaningful sense. Synthetic pile is heat-set rather than spun from short staple fibres, so you may see a small amount of fibre in the first week and very little after that.
Will it sit flat once unrolled?
Almost always within 24–48 hours. If you see any waves from the rolled packaging, lay the rug pile-up in the room and let it relax overnight — gravity does the rest. For stubborn corners, rolling the rug briefly in the opposite direction usually does it.
Can I return it if it isn't right?
Yes — we offer a clear returns window because we know a rug needs to be seen in the actual room. The details are on our returns page, and we'll talk you through it if anything is unclear.
Can I put a rug pad underneath?
Yes, and we'd recommend it on hard floors. A pad keeps the rug from slipping, adds a little extra softness underfoot, and helps the pile wear evenly over time.
How thick is the rug overall?
The total thickness includes the pile plus the backing — for most of our rugs, that ends up somewhere between 8mm and 30mm depending on the pile listed. If you need a precise figure for a door clearance, message us and we'll measure.
