PinnaclePlaza runner is the kind of rug that disappears into a room in the best possible sense.

On colour

The colour story matters here. Reds are bold by nature and reward rooms with enough scale to carry them — high ceilings, good light, generous walls. Classical medallion-and-border layout, but the colour palette has been softened so it sits comfortably in a contemporary room. Stand in the doorway and the rug barely registers; sit on the floor and the texture and pile depth come forward.

About the make

Carefully made for everyday family use. We've curated this one for its honest, hard-wearing build rather than for any particular regional story. Polypropylene is the fibre we end up recommending in roughly four out of five conversations with new customers. It is honest, hard-wearing, and forgiving. The 15mm pile gives this rug genuine softness underfoot — particularly good for a bedroom or a sitting room you actually want to sit on the floor in. The construction is built to take the daily compression of foot traffic without flattening through the centre.

Practical notes

In practice, in any room with Spotted gum floors, this rug adds the visual weight the floor needs to feel finished. Spot-clean with mild detergent and cool water. Avoid harsh chemicals — they're not needed and can damage the dye. Pet hair vacuums out cleanly — the fibre does not hold dander the way a natural pile sometimes can. It holds its shape under a heavy sofa and shrugs off the small dents that lighter constructions can't recover from.

Picking the right size

For hallways and galley kitchens, the 80x300cm length we run here is the most commonly bought — our Rug Size Guide walks through how to pick the right length for your space.

Our pick if you want one fewer thing to worry about in a busy household.

Things customers ask

Is the back of the rug latex-coated?

The backing is a standard textile finish — it sits flat on the floor and won't mark timber boards. For hard floors, we'd still recommend a rug pad to keep it from sliding.

Do you offer samples?

We don't typically send physical samples — most of our customers find the photos and our written notes get them close enough. If you want extra photos in natural light, message us and we'll send them through.

Is the colour the same on both sides?

No — the pile side is the finished face. The reverse shows the construction and is usually a slightly different colour because the dye penetrates the surface rather than the entire fibre.

Can I put a rug pad underneath?

Yes, and we'd recommend it on hard floors. A pad keeps the rug from slipping, adds a little extra softness underfoot, and helps the pile wear evenly over time.

Will the rug fade in direct sun?

Some fade is possible if a rug sits in direct, unfiltered sun day after day — that's true of any rug. The dyes used here are UV-stabilised and hold up well to the conditions in most Australian rooms.
