How it looks
Looked at honestly, the design is doing two things. Blue is a forgiving colour in a rug — it reads calm, it works in coastal rooms, and it sits beautifully against the white walls common in Australian builds. There is enough variation in the weave to keep the rug from reading flat — it has depth without busyness. From the kitchen looking through to the lounge, the rug reads as a single grounding plane rather than a competing pattern.
How it's made
In one line: Belgian-woven. Belgian mills are the benchmark for machine-made design definition. The look is crisper than what you'd get from most other origins. The fibre is synthetic, but the modern poly yarns we work with feel close to soft wool underfoot and clean up far more easily. The 15mm pile gives this rug genuine softness underfoot — particularly good for a bedroom or a sitting room you actually want to sit on the floor in. The yarn count is dense enough that the pattern reads sharply without losing softness underfoot.
On sizing

Living with it
In a real Australian room, it pairs especially well with dark hardwood floors and high white walls with skirting in cream. Spot-clean with mild detergent and cool water. Rolled. We ship every rug in our range rolled and wrapped — folding can leave a crease in the pile that takes a few weeks to settle out, so we avoid it.
Is the back of the rug latex-coated?
The backing is a standard textile finish — it sits flat on the floor and won't mark timber boards. For hard floors, we'd still recommend a rug pad to keep it from sliding.
Can I put a rug pad underneath?
Yes, and we'd recommend it on hard floors. A pad keeps the rug from slipping, adds a little extra softness underfoot, and helps the pile wear evenly over time.
How long does delivery take to my address?

Will the rug fade in direct sun?
