About the make
In one line: Belgian-woven. Belgian mills are the benchmark for machine-made design definition. The look is crisper than what you'd get from most other origins. Polypropylene doesn't fade in our harsh Australian sun the way some natural fibres do, and it's the reason we trust it in living rooms with northern light. At 15mm, the pile is on the plusher side of our range — it has the kind of give that makes a bedroom rug worth waking up to. The result is a rug that feels considered without crossing into precious territory.
Day-to-day
In a real Australian room, in any room with blackbutt floorboards, this rug adds the visual weight the floor needs to feel finished. If a spill dries before you get to it, dampen the area with cool water, work the cloth from the outside in, and the dried residue lifts back out. We have laid one of these under our own dining table for several years; it still reads as new.
On the design
Worth a moment on the look of it. We sell more cream rugs than any other colour. They suit the way most Australians live: warm-neutral walls, pale timbers, lots of natural light. Common questions
Will it sit flat once unrolled?
Almost always within 24–48 hours. If you see any waves from the rolled packaging, lay the rug pile-up in the room and let it relax overnight — gravity does the rest. For stubborn corners, rolling the rug briefly in the opposite direction usually does it.
Is the colour the same on both sides?
No — the pile side is the finished face. The reverse shows the construction and is usually a slightly different colour because the dye penetrates the surface rather than the entire fibre.
Does this rug ship rolled or folded?
Rolled. We ship every rug in our range rolled and wrapped — folding can leave a crease in the pile that takes a few weeks to settle out, so we avoid it.
How thick is the rug overall?
The total thickness includes the pile plus the backing — for most of our rugs, that ends up somewhere between 8mm and 30mm depending on the pile listed. If you need a precise figure for a door clearance, message us and we'll measure.
Do you offer samples?
We don't typically send physical samples — most of our customers find the photos and our written notes get them close enough. If you want extra photos in natural light, message us and we'll send them through.
