There is nothing trend-led about Contemporary Cove Dune Beige. It is built and priced to outlast whichever decorating wave is currently passing through.

About the look

What is happening at the surface is straightforward. Grey rugs sit quietly in a room and let the rest of the space do the talking — it's why they outsell almost everything else we carry. Tonally, the rug shifts subtly through the day — warmer in morning light, more grounded in the cooler hours of the afternoon. The design is balanced enough to centre a coffee table and quiet enough to let a strong artwork dominate above it.

How it handles real life

Day to day, in any room with dark hardwood floors, this rug adds the visual weight the floor needs to feel finished. The synthetic fibre tolerates household cleaners better than wool, but in our experience nothing more aggressive than cool soapy water is ever necessary. Pet-friendly in the most useful sense: claws won't catch the way they do on a looped pile, and the surface vacuums cleanly. We have laid one of these under our own dining table for several years; it still reads as new.

About the make

The short version: Belgian-woven. Belgium's Wilton looms are some of the most exacting in the world — the colour separation and pattern definition you get from them is hard to match elsewhere. Polypropylene fibre handles wine, juice, and muddy paws with a damp cloth and a bit of patience — which is why we recommend it to most growing families. This is a 15mm pile — soft, considered, with enough density to spring back from foot traffic without flattening. Density is what matters with a piece like this — it is what gives the rug its longevity.

Which size?

A 200x290cm covers most three-seater living rooms; a 240x330cm suits the larger open-plan layouts that have become common in new Australian builds. Our Rug Size Guide shows you which fits.

This is the kind of rug that makes the rest of your decisions easier.

Common questions

How do I get rid of a stain?

Blot — never rub. Cool water and a small amount of mild detergent on a clean cloth handles most spills. Work from the outside of the stain in. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.

Can I use this with underfloor heating?

Yes — the pile is not so dense that it traps heat, and the backing handles the moderate temperatures typical of residential underfloor systems.

Is the colour the same on both sides?

No — the pile side is the finished face. The reverse shows the construction and is usually a slightly different colour because the dye penetrates the surface rather than the entire fibre.

How long does delivery take to my address?

Most metro orders arrive within 3–7 business days. Regional and remote addresses can take a little longer. We'll send tracking the moment your rug leaves the warehouse.

Will the rug fade in direct sun?

Some fade is possible if a rug sits in direct, unfiltered sun day after day — that's true of any rug. The dyes used here are UV-stabilised and hold up well to the conditions in most Australian rooms.
