Our new exclusive Dahlia range are both focused on Contemporary & Modern tailored homes. Design and colours are both muted and soft, so if you are looking to give a hint of texture or a dash of colour, this could be just the thing to bring everything together.
Our customers find Dahlia Light Grey Turquoise Runner the way most people find a good rug — by elimination.
What's under the surface
Produced in Turkey. We've worked with Turkish mills for decades — the country's heritage in rugs runs deep, and the power-loom programmes are some of the most consistent in the world. Polypropylene fibre handles wine, juice, and muddy paws with a damp cloth and a bit of patience — which is why we recommend it to most growing families. The 18mm pile gives this rug genuine softness underfoot — particularly good for a bedroom or a sitting room you actually want to sit on the floor in. The yarn count is dense enough that the pattern reads sharply without losing softness underfoot.
Living with it
In a real Australian room, this is the kind of piece that works under the dining table of a Newtown terrace where space is tight and the rug has to do double duty. The synthetic fibre tolerates household cleaners better than wool, but in our experience nothing more aggressive than cool soapy water is ever necessary. Rotate the rug end-to-end every few months so foot traffic wears evenly across the surface.
About the look
There's a reason grey has been the default neutral of the last decade — it forgives, it cools, and it lets coloured furniture and art read clearly above it. There is enough variation in the weave to keep the rug from reading flat — it has depth without busyness. From the kitchen looking through to the lounge, the rug reads as a single grounding plane rather than a competing pattern.
Sizing
A runner needs to leave a hand's-width of floor visible at each end of the hallway — see our Rug Size Guide for the room-by-room guidance.
If you have read this far, you probably already know whether Dahlia Light Grey Turquoise Runner is the piece for your room.
Things customers ask
Can I put a rug pad underneath?
Yes, and we'd recommend it on hard floors. A pad keeps the rug from slipping, adds a little extra softness underfoot, and helps the pile wear evenly over time.
Does the rug have a strong smell when it arrives?
There may be a faint factory or packaging smell on opening — it airs out within a day or two. Lay the rug out, open the windows, and it will settle quickly.
Can I cut the rug to size?
We don't recommend cutting a finished rug — the edges are bound and the construction relies on that binding to stay intact. If you need a custom size, message us and we'll see what's possible.
Can I return it if it isn't right?
Yes — we offer a clear returns window because we know a rug needs to be seen in the actual room. The details are on our returns page, and we'll talk you through it if anything is unclear.
Will it sit flat once unrolled?
Almost always within 24–48 hours. If you see any waves from the rolled packaging, lay the rug pile-up in the room and let it relax overnight — gravity does the rest. For stubborn corners, rolling the rug briefly in the opposite direction usually does it.
